Got so much to learn on this complex, I'm currently on a lake of 4 acres with 150 carp and only fished one swim so far lol. The next lake I wanna get on is just under 9 with about 150 - 180 carp they reckon. But it has more weedbeds, lilies and snags lol. Take your time, once you find a complex that feels nice what's the rush, I kind of don't want to catch my targets coz the fishing is peaceful and might not find that again crusian, elmoputney and salokcinnodrog 3 Quote

And when the wind changes strength as you start the cast... I know about seeing a marker float can be difficult, I found fluorescent orange stands out to me, where I lose yellow or black tops even in shiny pale water reflection. Would a white marker float work for you? 4 hours ago, kevtaylor said: Take your time, once you find a complex that feels nice what's the rush, I kind of don't want to catch my targets coz the fishing is peaceful and might not find that again Strangely enough I'm almost the same, although I really want Chestnut and her big brother... kevtaylor 1 Quote

I struggle with orange in some lights, maybe black might be good, i use the big ones and still can't see them lol, probably need binos to spot it Quote
greekskii Posted February 25 Report Posted February 25 With the short casting it’s an art for sure. Try hitting the clip with the rod tip high, just flicking the lead out and then following it down. I fish a spot similar on a club water. A deeper silty gully between weedbeds. But I fish braided mainlines too so easier to mess it up! sometimes though you just have to keep casting until it’s right. A lighter lead will help 1. Reduce noise when recasting and 2. Bit more forgiving to get out. kevtaylor 1 Quote
elmoputney Posted February 25 Report Posted February 25 I remember seeing someone used to do an underarm catapult type cast, where they would hold the bait in their hand, pull it to tc and let it fly. crusian 1 Quote

Proper old school start on the kiddie lakes and work up to the men’s lakes lol well done Quote

framey Posted Wednesday at 13:38 Report Posted Wednesday at 13:38 You can use an alternative centrepin cast with a fixed spool reel pull line of the eyes and hold in one hand swing rod out let line go good for under trees commonly, kevtaylor and crusian 3 Quote
