Steve Neville bite alarm

Anyone technically minded who can shed some light on why my neville alarm has decided to go silent on me? It worked fine last session, but today, switched it on, it made the usual beep as it switches on, but spin the roller and it’s silent. LED lights up fine. Changed the battery, no change. Checked the circuitry, all looks ok, no loose wires or dodgy solder (that’s happened in the past) so I don’t know what’s wrong.

To be fair, my water fishes so damn slowly through the winter that it could have been muted for months and I wouldn’t have noticed 🙄
