It’s old technology got to be 3 years old but does the job takes a while to charge it back up tho kevtaylor and Gazza81 1

kevtaylor
I've got the Powa Pacs Atom which is good but expensive, bought for the plug socket and bait boat charging on the bank. However as has been said you cant beat Anker for a good reliable power bank, got one of those, highly recommended. 👍 Anker is a good brand full stop salokcinnodrog and Gazza81
elmoputney
I think I've got an anker too, seems to do a few charges tbh, I bought an honor phone recently to replace a broken one battery lasts me 2 days and I use it pretty heavily, im still amaze by that because I've never had one that lasts over a day 😳 Ridgemonkey lights seem to last a while too between charges. Get one of the newer anker ones with usb C fast charging abilities they will charge your phone much faster. jh92
If you have power tools you can get a USB adapter for the batteries, about £10 I think, I think mine hold about 2 phone charges each. Also have the allpowers r600 with a 100w solar panel for long sessions. Haven't used the panel yet but the battery is a beast and haven't been able to use it all up on a trip yet 🤣 Gazza81

I purchased a fox camo bivvy bucket(not fox). I've not tested it yet... Just finishing getting all the stuff I think I need for a comfortable weekend fishing. Just gotta decide on a bivvy heater now. It's just a bait bucket that someones nicely boshed some wires ect in. I had it for £65 Edited April 18 by mrmud

You don’t need a bivvy heater decent bag and a water bottle and maybe a winter skin and that should be good enough whatever you do please don’t use gas heaters it’s just too risky.. salokcinnodrog, mrmud and jh92

Spot on mate, never used anything except a decent bag tbh. When I got into night fishing a bivvy heater was never really spoke of lol, now you're seeing things on Facebook where people are using diesel heaters etc, madness lol I like the hot water bottle idea though 👍 mrmud

Too many 'accidents' with bivvy heaters, burnt down bivvies, and deaths from carbon monoxide poisoning. Even using a stove in the bivvy is a risk. Years ago a mate I used to fish with had a run while his stove was on to keep him warm, he only burnt a hole in his sleeping bag, but other mates have destroyed their whole bivvies and woken up in A&E. mrmud

I've got : thermal base layer, 95% merino socks, prologic max 5 thermo suit, hat, gloves, neck scarf. snugpak 4 season bag, snugpak jungle thermal blanket, ngt hot water bottle Got a bio ethanol(ventilated but supposed to be odourless) to burn in trangia stove if it's to wet to use gas stove outside. Did look at the candle heater but candles still produce carbon monoxide 36 minutes ago, framey said: If you really need to there is a couple of electric blankets that will plug into a power bank I bought one for my mrs as she always moans she’s cold saves me putting the heating on lol. This is the main reason I was looking for some kind of heater as it can be the middle of the summer but the other half still wants the heating on. framey
Most heat sources produce carbon monoxide. really need to go safe good bag is most important. hot water bottle or a thermal cover or a 12v electric blanket even putting the unhooking mat on top of the winter skin will help a tiny bit. yonny and mrmud 1

Think I'll go with what I got n see how she gets on. If she gets cold I'll just get her to push my monster barrow around for a while, that'll warm her up lol. My bivvy got a overwrap aswell. I'm not sure on the effectiveness of most fishing tackle brand winter clothing, as most are not outdoor specialists in the clothing range. I prefer army surplus, hunting or shooting clothing. My cold weather clothing is from army surplus, and Hoggs of Fife, along with Merino wool socks. Top half is usually t-shirt, Norgie or UBAC with a standard fleece on top, and a Hoggs Strathmoor jacket on top, (look at current outdoor shooting or hunting jackets), or a DPM wind and water resistant smock on top. Bottom half is combats with Hoggs overtrousers, and the Merino under my combat boots. For the neck I do have either a snood or my shemagh. That is cold winter wear! Annoyingly where I fish the phone signal is absolutely awful, half the time I'm on emergency calls only and when it comes up 4/5G is only one bar. It is often lack of signal that causes phone batteries to die faster. The Fag packet size chargers I can usually only get 1 charge out of. The Juice long Weekender I can get 2 sometimes 3 charges out of. I still sometimes end up going back to the car and having to charge from the cigarette lighter. I really must look out for the Anker versions. mrmud
