newmarket
Thought i'd add some more pics , this time mostly of recent additions to the menagerie Firstly , the Canary has 2 chicks and 2 eggs underneath her . Note the soppy dove directly below her who decided to build a nest and lay eggs in a food bowl doh !!!! Some Californian Quail The Quail in the foreground has the 'ump because i removed his 2 favourite hens ! I had to , he had ridden them almost to death and they are recuperating literally with holes in their heads through excess pecking Finally some more newbies . Californians:
buzzbomb
Those California quail are all over the place where I am, running around like they own the place. If I put out the most simple trap in the world I'd be eating quail every day, but if I got caught they'd run me right out of town. newmarket
crusian
Hello NM A bit late joining the thread . You expect The Spanish Inquisition , but not that Tarquin's a girl ! . Also I thought it was " the Dove from above " , not " the soppy Dove directly below …... making a nest in a food bowl " . newmarket

Hi Dan , the ones on the left are miniature Appleyards and the 2 on the right are Mandarins . The duckling is an Appleyard . Appeared from the incubator about 10 days ago. bobcross
Tim I think you change your user name to the bird man of Essex . Used to keep finches when I was in Braintree till the rats got in one night gave up after that. newmarket
newmarket
Strangely enough we had a few young chickens that mostly turned out to be roosters so we had to get rid of em ( an old pigeon fancier friend of my dads did the deed for me ) but not before SOMETHING had got into the cage and ripped the guts out of one of them . Yuk . Even stranger , I have no interest in birds or animals of any kind except those with fins . I just get lumbered with all the jobs that involve getting out of bed early

And if people want a pair of birds they fetch £160-180 ? Oh and I just found out today that the blooming African Land snails (yeah I know).... Have laid hundreds of eggs ffs
