Carpy spots, split from Simple Stiff d rig
Carpbell_ll replied to Pete Springate's Guns's topic in UK Carp Fishing
lucky Canada the funny thing is that means the crown will be drawing an income from that sort of yet there are a lot of people in the uk who think we should take the same approach as the Arab countries or the Philippines can see where the user anxiety issues come from. From what I've seen of the cheese strain it is more of a medical grade knock you out type thing seems to be what most of the street dealers sell, when in Amsterdam lol, I like the sativas and haze hybrids not too keen at all on the Afghani Indian indica hybrids some are ok but if i can get it then it has to be high quality Moroccan or Lebanese hash. -

A lot of issue around the green or what ever you wish to call it i go with hemp flowers if the plant has not gone through any kind of extraction process, addiction is a bit overkill when talking about regular use the side effects from not having a smoke for a regular smoker is the same as not having your coffee and Fag in the morning. The financial problems are due to the illicit nature of the costing structure if a person could freely grow their own in a outdoor greenhouse all the financial and backstreet retail issue would not be there. The only strain/brand/name i would strongly advise people stay away from is the horrid cheese weed, it's disgusting and obnoxious and there is something not right about it couldn't tell you what as i wont have it or those that smoke it regular around me. -
Love mine was unsure as weather to get them or not due to them being 10 footers i figured i would get on with them as i used to use a 10 foot float rod and much preferred it to a 13 float rod. Really do like these rods they are the kind of rods that are a pleasure to use .

Sometimes you do have to feel sorry for sponsored anglers you can see they are lying their rump off i've been watching a few Simon Crow vids now that's how you video fishing sessions for social media it's all about where he is fishing and non of that you need this and that nonsense to catch fish. Old fishing buddy of mine only fishes canals or any pools he can get on for free always with just a cheap argos float road and reel, Tench are his main target, i once talked him into buying a day ticket for pine pool turned up with his float road sat on the end of main causeway we all fish off and put us all to shame with the amount of very large tench he had out, really was something else all from slowly feeding the swim maggots and corn. -
Prologic rods have always been solid like at of of their tackle seems to be one of those companies that get overlooked the new range of bivvys the inspire range look one of the best buys out there for a 20.000 mm bivvy.

Was going to say when i over do the hook bait pimping i empty the pot into a old sarnie box give them a roll around and pop into a clean pot, usually leaves enough liquid in the sarnie box to coat a few other tubs.

Not sure what pole he is using but Nuffinbutfishing did a recent you tube video of a session on a Somerset water one of his own vids not a work review pretty good, he makes watchable films can see how he got the job.

Pine pool at KWP is a funny one you can see clear spots out in the middle on a sunny day as well as plenty of other spots close in, i will stick my neck out and say if you fish them there is a good chance you will shut the lake down the more bait you put out the more likly it will happen, they like it in or on the weed or the odd clearish spot around the margins , what works best on a real hot day is wafters fished on 3-4 foot of mono and an inline lead the lead goes through the silk weed and the wafter sits on top get right on the right day and pine pool can become a runs water. -

If Gabriel don't mind a bit of reel talk outside his choices, has anyone used or handled the Shimano Baitrunner Oceanic Reel for the money it is a expensive reel for me but it looks like it has all the baitrunner qualities of old Baitrunner System Dyna Balance Anti-Wobble System 3+1 Shielded Stainless Steel Bearings Varispeed Oscillation System Floating Shaft II Easy Maintenance AR-C SPOOL Power Roller Super Stopper II Also since when did a good light metal such as ally or even titanium become out of the question in a sub 200 quid reel, if these XT7 and other similar polymers are so good and advanced why are they not used on big money reels, I've a feeling it is not the cost of the marital that is the issue, polymers are a lot easier to mould and machine, I'd say the polymers make vast profits due to the production costs, but that does not mean they couldn't use metals and sell for the same money but make less profit. Some of the big reel makers are going to lose a lot of customers if they keep this up basic baitrunners have always been under the 100 quid mark with all of the above features, these last few years they seem to have lowered the features in the cheaper reels just so they can sell a stand out reel for 200 plus and it is only happening in carp fishing, there is a big name company that has not long brought out a very expensive item that is nothing more than moulded plastic and it is getting panned in the reviews the build quality is is on a par with a similar product that costs a lot less. -
I'd hold fire, January and February are the burn out months and can end carp fishing hobbies for any angler that is not well aware of what they are getting into, sometimes you see videos or read reports on what others are doing and try the luck, The forum member Spa? seems to have stopped posting he was getting out in the winter and not having much luck. hope he stuck with it or at least dropped the winter sessions. Myself I would go out this time of year but it really would depend on air temps and a change in wind direction.

These days it would seem you have to go up to 200 quid-ish for a high quality Shimano bait runner the ST of mine gave up after the last chunk i had on it, the DLs could go the same way at any time as they are similar reels about the same age. -
It's not so much where to start with goo's it's where it ends... owning the whole range can work on days where they won't pick a bait up the rasberry has always worked and seems to be one of the popular ones have you thought about the mainline smart liquid? not tried it myself but been told it is ok.

Mitchell are worth a look and they make the reels i bought the Avocet spod that Erics Angling sold i have had it under water loads of times well happy with it, so i'm looking at the Mitchell MX 6 they do three different sizes. Nuffinbutfishing looks happy with it in this video -
The Nash Camlocs can't fault them been using them for around 6 years still solid with a sharp open and close click and more to the point they really have been essential fishing small snaggy waters the amount of times in the past i have had rods bouncing around and worse these Nash butt rests have put an end to that. Nash seem to be a bit short on reputable tackle testers and reviews in the world of social media, if any tackle makers would like to send me some gear I would happily use it and if works as should I will make a true review video, if it's useless tat I will quietly send back and say no more, and yes I can sell. just about to replace my broken st6000 reel, thinking of going with one of the compact BP reels that are about, so far it's looking like the Mitchell MX6 500 my avocet spod reel is a brute still works like new so I may try their mini BP. although, I would be happy to try any other similar reel such as the Scopes, to be fished on the kind of waters they are aimed at.

Anyone seen those tackle raffles on FB, not my sort of thing but they do seem reasonable some high quality gear raffled individually or whole kits, plus they do lowest value single items with low amount of over all tickets available for sale. you could get a good brew kit for 2 quid on a 40 ticket sale draw meaning the raffle organisers are doubling their money on a 40 quid brew kit. They seem to be popular as the ticket always sell and they do have what looks like a genuine happy winners list, they all so do brand new vans every now and then, the prizes are really good not sure how long they can keep it up for, plus there must be a fail safe in it, if they need to sell 10.000 tickets on a van but only shift 5000 by closing time a draw on that would wipe you out, must be something that insures all tickets are in the draw come picking a winner day. Would any of you guys take a punt some of the tickets are !0 quid each for the big value stuff and it could be a 10.000 ticket draw.

Just my luck i have been keeping an eye on how the cyprinus web site works with the auctions as i like the K2 60 brolly and front for a replacement to my JRC and they get all hard to haggle You can make an offer was thinking they would take 500 for the three items i like the asking price is 555 in total but 500 is too much and was planning on trying out for 350-400 for the set, looks like that's on hold.

10 kilo allowed I think, should be enough to get the swim rocking, didn't guys used to take base mix and roll once there? only just the start of problems a certain bivvy auction site has said the prices will be going up by a fair amount from next month on due to the import costs all up in the air the cost of bringing shipping containers is about to raise to between 4 to 500 percent of the normal cost according to their web page.

Do garden birds eat pigeon conditioner?

Yeah they will all have a peck at it and any local pigeons or doves will hammer the rest in no time. -
Think catch and release is becoming more acceptable in the US these days people are starting to take an interest in specimen fishing which is always a good thing for any water. Think there could be a world rescored in the US more so if they can see the value in not bow fishing. I know some of the mirror carp in Texas are live bait escapees, that would make for some very wary carp plus the kind of predators they come across not at all surprised you don't see many of this sort., some of the waters are huge near the size of a small European country lol

Just a bit of jail cell legal advice if you do bump into a copper that insists on having 200 off you, just refuse their request for details and go through the arrest procedure, tell them they can have your details at the police station after you have spoke to a lawyer and yes i am at home only going out for the shop before anyone thinks I'm speeding down the motor way giving the fingers and shouting Fu Fu 😷

I know there is a US section this could go in but the guy has really gone all out for some UK style carp fish, good read great catch. What a beast. https://www.carpfeed.com/fishing-news/article/new-american-record-weighs-in-at-59lb-4oz-video?fbclid=IwAR2xlimoaPfKSfXbpWQwU39Hb4Ez038rdlCPF_jAPSOY2CTqI8Q0jQUTtfY

I rarely go fishing before march so ok at the mo, it really is time to bite the bullet, if this covid is still around after the vaccine has been distributed country wide, then it will have to be crack on regardless. it is getting to the point of living in a police state, was out the other day with the dog just got back in my car an a copper pulls up and shone his side light straight at me i hit the roof by the time i got the car the idiot drove off, cheeky git stopped right in front of my car and put his side beam on me, I think he must of been able to lip read 😷

Looking nice Blue just needs a set of Original Fox alarms. well the first of the digital range not too original. I have two of the old MX + near tempted to get a third and a set of dongles. never liked the sound of delks nothing like a fox screaming off on a summer morning while still turned up to night time setting, I'm that guy
-
Always been a fan of fox and the few bits i have, my three rear bank sticks are the cam-lock screw point had them for close to ten years now still solid got that used ground down look on the screw points. Do like the look of this QR kit the buzz bars are nice but are a bit high end for me. there is not much stock in the shops anyhow, finally got the money for a new or used three wheeler and there are non for sale anywhere. If Nige still posts? any idea on when the trade will be restocking the shops?

As Kev said pads are a beast they only way to deal with them is to pull them out, but they just grow back quick, wish we had pads on the lake i fish but i doubt they want the hassle that goes with it Could be a new bait boat in the making, The Dredger with mini JCB on the back lol.
