Bivvy, brolly system - too big too small?
Carpbell_ll replied to pablo7uk's topic in Carp Fishing Tackle and Equipment
had my jrc contact for ten years still going only resealed once in ten years it actually behaved in that last rain storm no condensation and that's a single skin really could with something faster and more portable only got this bivvy due to the Mrs said she might do the odd overnighter never has yet, keeps mumbling about getting a caravan and hitting the pikey routes, ha ha yeah right I'm really going to open myself up to all that comes with that, I don't speak the lingo you really do need to be able to speak one of the Gaelic languages to get along in those places. i have never even towed a caravan either. the wychwood will be my next buy. if i can't get something like titan system -
sling them a sleeping bag each and tell them to be grateful, give them the old back in the day line, like framey says most camping gear like chairs and beds only lye flat on bowling green style lawns. , if the kids are nippers get them a wide bed chair to two up in, you wouldn't want those bunk beds coming down.

Bivvy, brolly system - too big too small?

that's the problem i'm having with barrows found one that is around the right price but when you add the fuel money it's a bit much, offered the guy asking price if he would bring to me, not heard back, they sell fast so. -

funnily enough im looking at a brolly for the future my jrc contact two man is still going strong add a overwrap and it is the perfect winter bivvy so see no point in getting a another one, but the new wychwood brolly looks good mainly do to the price and the add on fronts that are cheap in comparison, add a vapour shield be lovely. light and fast. -
make sure your clips are up to the job very few sub 200 pound reels could hit the clip at that distance an still drop your rig on the spot neatly, you will need to slow that line down before it hits the clip, the bow in the line comes from a cross wind, casting to fallen trees will also be a real problem at distance due to the line bowing, you would need to cast past the spot giving you some room to take the bow out the line, long distance casting is one thing getting it right is a art form in itself. fair play to you for going down that route sounds like the kind of water that a baitboat would not look wrong. i never fish large waters so that's more how i see it than factual, there are some very good long distance anglers on the site, they can be a bit elitists but if you plug away the best you can you may get some advice worth listening to.

on a more practical view of boats i will say I've been very reliably informed that the carp tax is mighty on rc bait boats mates into those petrol rc cars the fast off road ones sonar equipment aside the rc boat is really overpriced, then again most rc dues reckon they can build or get built for cheaper.

Aqua shoes, waterproof bivvy boots
Carpbell_ll replied to elmoputney's topic in Carp Fishing Tackle and Equipment
wellies or wet feet, take plenty of socks and change as needed is my normal routine, those sealskinz socks are said to keep the wet out and feet dry but at nearly 50 notes a pair I'll never know. did get offered a new set for fifteen quid a few years back when I bought my lofty gear, turned them own as I didn't know anything about them. -
not sure but i'm currently recruiting foot soldiers, been scouring some of the more out-there peta spin off groups, also looking for a good electronic warfare team, going to hack deeper an scrub that site clean.

the arms race is on i have one of these on order i figured so long as i only use it from my own peg all's fair. i give you soon to be marketed in the uk, the boat blaster 5000 I can see nothing in the rules of fisheries or more importantly the ethics and etiquette of carp angling that could prevent an angler from deploying such equipment when fishing a lake.

as an aside have you ever noticed proper English people don't haggle never understood that one it either agreeable or a umming and arring silence, you just know the wheels of commerce didn't turn too quick back in the days of bartering.
-
got the new barrow went proper Scottish on it which can be a problem when you have a very old Warwickshire accent of which i am very fond of, as it got it from my grandparents. had some cheeky git say a i sounded like a hobbit from lor, i'll take that i thought. anyhow the barrow, sponsored by Tesco gold label tea.

i'm willing to call a truce on my belittlement of batboat anglers so long as certain terms are met, those terms are get one of these bb's linked below ( don't worry it is a angling boat ) what you need to do is make a little cockpit a stick a darth vader figure in the pit, also it must play the imperial march theme tune when trucking across the lake. https://www.futurecarping.co.uk/products/v70-bait-boat?variant=37624505794726¤cy=GBP&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gclid=CjwKCAjwnPOEBhA0EiwA609ReWfD0HAQV0BJ-jJJqxmb6qh4ETYNq1ESJz6d3hpz-T3cZy_QM1j17RoCzC0QAvD_BwE

i just had a few sessions with high flavour shelfies i really do think they are way over the top be going back to my cov gold next time you could taste the chemical back note for days after handling those hit n run pop ups, nasty.
-
soon as poss really do a few days sessions see how it is with the dog, bet it would be a different dog on the bank to what it is when at home or out walking don't take long for them to settle into the peg life as well.
-
get a patterdale they only get on the bed for sleep or food, don't take mine any more too old he would be off everywhere back in the day got into allsorts of fights he ended up at the vet once getting his neck stitched back up that was a close call he is a rescue that came with a few facial marks always been keen to get off on his own think because i would sort of let him he always came back eventually, never had a problem with rabbit holes luckily. he has had a look but not keen on going too far in, some dogs can shoot down them without even thinking about it.

well that was a weekend to forget i know one thing from here on in it's hot swims only or once i get a barrow I'm going mobile on that dog, just cant catch a break if it ain't dye going in its feed or for some unfathomable reason the sluice gates are open meaning at this time of year the lake temps drop back to near freezing for a day or two i know the dye don't effect the fish but still some days the water looks like a massive toilet blue has been chucked in in fact that's not a bad idea, sure get em moving out the going swims, going to be a completely different angler turning up from now on.

What a dire session I couldn't bag a goldfish at this rate don't think that chunk of river water helped to top it the ducks have been hitting my gear without any remorse.
-
Looked OK to me bit of a unruly rig to fish in a bag, must of been massive nice sonic boom crack off on hitting the clip.

Well the Chinese snugpac is very impressive just done a silly in the rain and swapped the zig over to a bottom Bait took longer than planned the snigpac gear is water proof too bone dry under just got to dry these out now or it will be the 1990s style rain suit proper heavy may as well strap the bivvy on. Lad two pegs over just had one.
