  1. Appreciate the heads up sharpy 😎 What washer config did you end up with BC?
  2. Thanks BC.... must admit there are my favourites at the moment . A hell of a lot of reel for the money... imo 😎
  3. Sorry to hear that.... on limited fishing time like we all seem to have, you certainly want to be somewhere you want to be .
  4. Can get the c14+ model for £200 per reel I will probably sell my br's as they still fetch decent money second hand, should pay for more than half the cost of the new ones depending what I go for. How you getting on with the new water Gaz ?
  5. Come on then lads .... Looking at getting some new reels . Had infinities br's for donkeys now & fancy a big pit that's a fair bit lighter . Budget 200 - 300 £ per reel Do like the look of the ultegra c14+ & the power areo models . Any input & reviews very welcome 😎
  6. Up at first light nothing to report... yesterday came & went . Was waiting on the fish showing out where I had zigs placed again in the afternoon into evening & it just never happened .... bit of a head scratcher looked perfect for it . Got most of the day to try & pick up something else before the journey home .
  7. One from yesterday I could claim 😎
  8. Your not wrong mate lol Weighed in at 39lb Obviously not my fish
  9. Signals not great ! .... turns out it was a cat trailing the branches , hence the strange fight . Managed to land it & sort it out . Gutted thought it was a big carp momentarily !!! lol
  10. Just had a mad fight on a 12ft zig .... went from thinking this is a big carp to "what the hell have I hooked here " fairly sharpish . But it didn't feel like a cat fish either . Anyway slowly worked it towards me after it powerd off many times gets it close & the first thing that breaks the surface Is this nest of branches .
  11. Best of luck BC Up early this morning prepping for a day on the zigs , raining here at the moment & not a breath of wind so looks like sticking around .
  12. Crickey there keen .... a lot can happen in 2 years .
  13. Stay away from Columbia boots ... spent out on a pair a few years back weren't cheap costing over 100 £ might even of been closer to 150 £ can't remember. Top mountain spec etc But I do remember them being rubbish at keeping your feet warm & dry , questioned myself on a few winter sessions whether it was sweat after walking round trying to spot fish but it was just down to them not being waterproof as stated. Ended up wearing them to work where they soon fell apart lol
  14. When you lift up to reel in ,was the lead stuck & you had to pull a bit to get it moving? This is plugging. Not always a bad thing as it can nail bigger fish , but smaller fish or bream etc can give you what you experienced . If you don't want it to be plugged , once you feel the lead down just gentle pull it free straight after.
  15. Missed the bit where you said 8 anglers would be better .... probably a good shout. Take a deposit off everyone early next year who's keen . Then a final payment when the venue needs paying for in full . I don't think your be short of takers closer to the time anyway . But pencil me in if you would
  16. I reckon I could be up for this mate ... some big commons to try for & looks a nice venue . 20 acres & 9 anglers works out about right , good bit of water each but not to far away from everyone for the social side of things 😎
  17. Is the lead is plugging ?
  18. I did wonder if that was the difference. Might be worth a look at the sink waste pipe BC certainly a lot cheaper. Although what you have done is more than useable 😎
  19. Looks the same as sink / shower waste pipe ?
  20. Go & look in the mirror give yourself a slap & repeat " the fish won't realise it's ok "
  21. This one .... looks a different design tbh
  22. A lad came on here not long back asking for exactly the same bit .... which I sent him free of charge. Never logged in again lol
  23. They are soft mate ... but that makes them absorb some extra liquid before they go out . If you just send them out without a boost then they will take on water & then your quite right become less buoyant over a 24hr period .
  24. They do 24 + hours mate No probs . They also are perfect for the Ronnie set a size 4 perfectly
