Didn't, the powers that be impliment some criteria for future record claims after all the big rig back lash? Not saying this isn't a legit claim mind .

Trying to mate but customers don't seem to be getting the message lol . over 20 years on the trowel working by myself has started to take it's toll so it was time for a change . Had this summer away from the trowel working with a mate . Did do a job at the back end of August that was already booked in , but I've been turning work away all year now ..... very alien feeling as you can imagine!!! But really enjoying the change & using plant ,still self employed so nothing has really changed just bringing in the money with a different set of tools .
-
Hello mate .... last night tonight, jobs done just got to load all the plant on the loader tomorrow, then it's head home . Certainly shifted plenty of stinky black silt , was a bit of a drive through the estate to where we had to dump it .
-
Yes mate.... think i might of even passed your work & fishing area . We headed up to Warrington to eat at a place called the "partridge " hotel & restaurant, very nice too I might add . I passed an area just as you described to me at the socials on the left hand side heading towards Warrington ?

Flavour of the Week - Mainline
chillfactor replied to ...'s topic in Carp Fishing Tackle and Equipment
Good post this mate .... & the exact reason I carry two types of line with me , 1 snag line & one casting . -
First day of the lake de- silting job today up near Chester. The main lake on the estate looks spot on & have already started prebaiting a few marginal spots with the hope of getting some fishing time later in the week . Never been fished apparently so haven't a clue what might be in it . But already seen a few lillies moving so fairly sure there a carp present but not seen any as such . Just going to keep a bit going in & what will be will be .

I agree mate but some tubing really stinks of plastic. So I avoid them .
-
I use the the korda stuff ... easy to thread & doesn't stink of plastic like other brands , which is something many over look when choosing tubing . If you can smell it then the fish definitely can !
-
Agree Nick .... but from individual fish to fish they must have different preferences , which could result in them letting there guard down & feeding with no thought of danger .
-
I'm in no doubt that the fish must of fed on bait during those two years , but maybe different fish respond differently to the feeding triggers of each individual bait & thus making them easier to trip up if the right trigger is present?
-
I had an interesting catch last year, that nice common I had which was thought to of been lost to the otters , some will remember on here . Not been caught or seen in over two years before I landed it last year . Anyway to my point lol .... I'm convinced I caught it again because I started baiting a few weeks before with a bait I hadn't used for the couple of years it went uncaught .
-
The unknown & guesting will always get the juices flowing mate Good luck tonight 🤞

Looks very promising muft , cracking common 😎

Finally managed a spot of fishing.... shame it's been in my septic tank with a net !!! My hat goes off to anyone who works up close & personal with sewage!!!! Lol As a side note I don't suppose there are any aerobic septic tank experts on here ? The system has failed & I need to reinstate the bactirial chamber . Thanks in advance 😎

Korda krimps or wychwood version
chillfactor replied to carpyian's topic in Carp Fishing Tackle and Equipment
I find the side cutters on the pliers useful for cutting hooks when needed .... but haven't used it for crimping at all lol -
I have a set of 3.25 Torrix... which many consider one of the best all round rods. I have no doubt though since buying a set of 13 ft hi s 220 's these are out performing the torrix as an all round rod hands down . And the torrix have become second choice . I noticed Yonny is finding the same since buying his 13ft Harrison casting rods. I can fish the margin or 160 +, also great for fishing long zigs .
-
We did discuss arranging one for Jhon's 70th .... sandhurst seemed a popular choice . Will keep you both posted 😎

We all are stevo 😎 .... he was still blanking on Wednesday evening, I had an ealier walk for dinner on the Wednesday & stopped off in his swim for a chat . One of the best things about socials is bouncing ideas off each other, he applied what we spoke about that evening & had a 30 + & a 47 lb er a few hours later . Then followed it up with the biggest fish of the trip with that 53 lber. Awesome stuff mate 😎
