  1. Well, the travellers have moved off, boo rubbish! Lake will now be full again. Oh and even more annoying, Mr Bayes himself said that while the travellers were on site it was free to fish the day ticket!!!
  2. It's been awhile but all being well I should have another noddy update this Saturday [emoji39] woo hoo ! Luckily for me some travellers have parked in a field near the lake so everyone seems to be freaking out and not fishing, fingers crossed I'll have some choice of swim [emoji108] My only plans so far are that the wind is the same as when I last went so if I can I'll fish the other side of the lake and see what happens. I realise I can't give up on the place!

    arachnophobia

There is a lake down the road from my nemesis bayeswater that has a massive population of grass snakes. Hoowage great things, green and will randomly scoot across the bank or happily take shelter under bucket lids or chairs, proper freaked me out!

It seems so wrong but I've got to admit I would be tempted to feed a live mouse.... it is funny that you say of being scared of spiders, when I see a biggun run it makes me jump the over way!!!

Super cool! I used to have a red rump and a zebra, red rump called Boris very docile and "friendly" the zebra was mighty aggressive so got named Begbie aka trainspotting Would love a Goliath! What do you feed her? What will you feed her when fully grown? Am currently in Cyprus on hols and this is the best I've spotted so far, about the size of a USB stick... Have seen bigger before though. Found this critter on the first night... .... Oh and my boy caught this...
  8. My brother had to claim for stolen kit, he didn't have receipts but photos were excepted.
  9. https://www.amazon.co.uk/KOALA-PRODUCTS-CARP-CRADLE-UNHOOKING-x/dp/B005DEJ2Q6 this is pretty much what I've got if you look through the pictures you'll see what I mean by the webbing crossing underneath
  10. Jh92 - I've one pretty much the same as carpbell_ll. Sometimes budget is bad, but a lot of matts seem to be ok, one thing I'd look for is that the canvas webbing follows under the matt this will take the weight and not the seems What ever you buy if you feel it isn't padded enough you can always get a simple £10 stalking / roll matt to put inside
  11. Spr that is proper poo! Am gutted for you [emoji27] [emoji25] [emoji36] that would bust me up if I'd driven from Suffolk... have look at these guys could be a good back up for the future. And is five mins down the road http://www.essexcarpsyndicates.co.uk/day-ticket.html

    Aviary .

I've only now read this whole thread... wow! Is all I can say!! Ignore my PM am sure more birds are the last thing you want!!
  14. I'd be amazed of there's fish of that size, there could be but seemed more like in the looked blog. Would definitely say I'd be good for a youngun
  15. Do you mean literally know nothing about the place? I think they've two small ponds for course fish (?) and a larger one for trout. I've only ever fished the trout lake, is actually quite lovely and have had a few rainbows out. The course lakes aren't really my sort of place but think they are intended for float fishing only and there small carp and silvers to be had. Mind you I've not been there for a few years. ! Found this https://chuffishing.wordpress.com/2011/04/20/kates-hill-and-boxford-lake/
  16. Life is annoying! Hope all will be alright for you and yours spr
  17. Interesting CM but surely the hand feeding is a bit far!!
  18. 5 day session! You lucky lucky man [emoji4]
  19. Yes defo can get a sinking bait to hold just under surface. Have got to say dovii a standard zig sounds the way to go, surely as others use pop ups the floating bait on a zig is acceptable as long as its under the surface?
  20. What about a gardener suspender float? If you use a stiff hook link and small sinking bait it will actually hold it on the surface, you'll have to faf about with hook link length etc... it's not too much grief though. But I'd think you'd be pushing the rules to far though! [emoji39] Actually what Newmarket said go standard float near the surface. I'd say a lump of paste or meshed luncheon meat. Is that rule because of bird life? Birds don't go near the gardener suspender [emoji41]
  21. Do update on how you get on, wish you the best of luck
  22. You thinking of fishing it then Mr Mufty? I think it works well with the membership, gets you a key the gate so nice and safe. Can bring guests and they just pay for the day ticket. The id card is more for the farmer who owns the land. Are you there yet spr? Lovely day for it! Am trying to get a pass from the wife this week for me and my boy he want to go elsewhere as he knows I catch nothing at Bayes!! [emoji39] think I've got one more blank left in me before I give up and leave it until winter [emoji30]
  23. He he he! OK I'll stop !....
