  1. Or maybe there is two CM's!
  2. Interesting CM, it was a size 10 xpert that snapped, but it was old... I do like them also, especially the price!!
  3. I used the guru qm1's for small carp, they are a much finer and smaller version of the kranks, and for smaller fish they where brilliant. I had a fair few carp on the kranks, in size 10 and 8, biggest was about 25lb and was proper hit and hold next to Lillie pads. Fine no problem, but that size four was terrible! Now I won't be using any!! Oh well only one item left of korda in my tackle box
  4. Ooooh, well, Unaccurate test of rig hooked onto Avon scales - idea rig, korda krank size 4.... hook opened at just over 20lb - old snake bite rig, think it was 12lb, with size 10 korum xpert hook.... The hook snapped at just over 10lb So proves nothing other than I won't be buying those hooks again
  5. I'd say my "idea" rig would go at the hook, as its whipped onto the shank... Am now off to my garage to see what happens!
  6. My main thoughts are that I like the solar contour and the idea of hydrolink, (braid outside of stiff mono/floro) Don't get me wrong greekskii I posted it to get responses so do appreciate your insights, and to be fair you have put the danger thought in my head so it won't be used !
  7. CM - what do mean by wrong angle? What would you be looking for? Have looked at unfair rig, looks to complicated ! I know that makes no sense considering I'm threading line through another and its too thick to go through the eye of the hook!?!
  8. I've got to say, from what I've seen (not loads) the video above is a pretty standard bayeswater session, find a spot, spod a bit, land a few... if you have done it right! It gets fished a lot and the carp in there don't get a break from anglers, so I can't help but feel a different approach is in order. I watch the video and think "yeah I can do that" it seems easy and simple, BUT that guy knows his stuff and it is the small things he probably does without thinking is what helped him catch. On that day there was probably 5 other anglers that caught nowt! As I said I'm looking forward to summer on there and I'll be fishing the opposite to that example, whether I'm right I will have to wait and see
  9. And its always as easy as Mr peck makes it look
  10. Copied from other thread for any more prospective searchers
  11. Ha ha! Too late, already replied on days only thread
  12. Who would have thought you'd need a PhD in physics just to catch a carp!?!
  13. Hutch - am on it! Thank you for explaining, it's funny those moments when things click! I do understand
  14. Nick - yes interesting, (amazing how much carp r us claim to have thought of first!) In the time I've been fishing, mainly from 2000 the company seems to have been pushed aside and it almost out of date. I'm going to see how this rig splices, not sure how well it'll work with the stiff inner though. Thank you hutch - I'll have to read your post a few times to reply to all the points! Hookwise I'm thinking some type of short shank wide gape, best I've seen is made by Nash, but I can't bring myself to pay that much! Especially as I've now found two companies that will sell something similar to the krank but for £3! I think I understand what you mean by having the bait closer, not quite convinced though, I like the short stiff section leaving the hook as I think it helps turning, much like the tubing on your rig. My main thoughts with the short stiff section from the hook is something a former member, keenook, said about imagine putting a cocktail stick fully in your mouth and trying to blow it out.... I imagine I could be difficult and the end may well stock in the lip and stop it leaving. With the stiff section on the hook I hope when fully taken in a carps mouth if blown out the stiff bit would hit the lip or side of the mouth and stop thehook leaving the mouth therefore giving the hook more time to get hold, does this make sense? I'll try and find the post. In simple terms I want it to be easily picked up = wafter, but difficult to eject = big hook and stiff bit to stop it leaving. Yes the hook knot in the picture isn't great! I couldn't thread it through the eye so whipped it to the shank! I'll keep playing and ideally it as you say standard knot maybe a grinned and a whipped hair. Androoooooooooooooooo - I've seen the hydro extreme and like the sounds of it. But I really love the solar contour as it is so heavy, I also like the idea of making my "own" hooklink
  15. Octospilce is way before my time! Even Google dosent like it! Found a German supplier with some for sale
  16. Nick - Good idea 're needle, not sure why I didn't try that!
  17. Carpbell_ll - I've had no problem with tying rigmarole at all, great for loops and standard knots, definitely easier than an Albright (although that is a satisfying knot
  18. Yeah course! I can make anything complicated!!
