  1. Oops like a dyslexic pimp buying a warehouse..... [emoji12]
  2. Tim I agree.... a rule for one and a rule for another is poor!
  3. Confused I am...... de-railing the thread I could be....
  4. Oh dear I didn't think that would get through
  5. How come the three letter word for brokeback mountain is banned? Discrimination much.... Peados
  6. I've liked every post because internet arguments are super gay and I can't catch fish so maybe I'll catch Australian man herpes ! [emoji8]
  7. That is if you can get in a swim! [emoji36] [emoji27]
  8. Yes of course! Are you Mr Spr? FOLLOW THE WIND AND MOVE SWIMS! Oooh tough one though, wind changes north easterly on Friday.... chilly.... fish the back or follow the wind? Could be swim one or eight/nine, although personally I think the shallows are always a good bet!! Let me know and I can give you exacts wraps for some spots in the shallows
  9. I think I've set myself up as my boy has his heart set on weybread (my now rediscovered place) and my carp destiny will decided by my wife's grace and whether she let's me out to play!
  10. Having said this I have half term off next week and my boy has decided he wants to come night fishing ! So a midweek trip to Bayes may be on the cards
  11. Hutch and Tim I agree, it is the opposite of what I look for. I like that I didn't really know it has some names that fish it as I ended up there by chance really. It is a very well run lake with some good and friendly anglers there and you will not find any litter what so ever I like to think it's against me rather my ability but I think it is both and not doing myself down but how I fish it takes me time to get to know a place with a lot of trial and error. But was has been really good is when looking at going back to my other place I can see how much I have learnt at bayeswater! If I go to my other place I'll definitely be back a I do like the mission of the place but it is wearing me down a bit
  12. But now I have a sort of strategy in that if I turn up and there's not much swim choice I'm not going to grin a bare it, I'll go to a venue down the road. But now I have a difficult choice... spoke to the owner of my previous favourite lake where the times are set at 12 hours 0730 - 1930 and the beautiful man has said I can fish until 10 at night!! Annnnnnd my boy can float fish for free
  13. Yes hutch swims near the point and the swim at the back of the point in the main lake.
  14. I chose my swim as the one to my right was too tight to the other angler further round. I didn't want to pitch up next to the chap in the shallows as it is a decent sized area and enough for two to fish but feels to close and there is an unwritten rule that if there is someone there it is there's to fish unless asked politely so didn't want to encroach on their space. If I could I would have followed the wind and possibly had more luck. My mistake was I should have moved here... As it became free and I didn't react quick enough as someone else jumped in. Otherwise I don't think there is much more I could have done? What say you carp.com?
  15. Compass is in top right corner, "Shallows" is the bay area past the channel
  16. My right hand rod was put to the marginal reeds with again maggots, groundbait and some boilies. Once again no fish no signs [emoji36] [emoji36] [emoji36] lots of birds on my free bait but interestingly I had no picks up from them apart from when I put a darker coloured fish boilie. So I kept this on and moved the bait slightly further from the margins Max about 3 foot out but it was a good 4 foot deep. When ever I brought it in the rig was clear of weed with just a little on the lead so am happy it was presented OK.
  17. As I posted on the day the swim was where my cousin had caught a whopper on float fished maggots about 2 rod lengths out so I put some maggots and some ground bait out here but set my rod up as a zig cast to about the same distance as where I saw the carp show but further to the left, was plagued by birds so dropped it down and actually after a couple of hours I changed it over to hinged stiff and put it on the wacker area slack lined and left it there.... no sign of fishies [emoji36] [emoji36]
  18. The chod was my middle rod. I left it in place for about an hour, line was slack. Then changed it for a stiff hinge on its own and no tubing. After about another hour brought it in cast about in the spot with a lead I could feel what I think was the same silk weed as the margins but also spots where the lead stuck and would pull free, which I think.... may be clay. No massive amounts of weed on the lead when I brought it in. I re cast to were I thought it was clay and catapulted about maybe a kilo of boilies to the spot where the carp had showed. Having seen a guy catch loads by putting in a fair amount of bait and catching reasonably shortly afterwards I felt ok doing this. This rod I left alone for most of the day I recast at about 3pm and that was it. No other signs of fish in that area and no indication of fish. [emoji36]
  19. These where my rigs, size 8 hooks, all fluro hookinks. Bait was 10mm Nash 4G squid pop-ups various colours, tried yellow, purple, orange. Chose this because of seeing how many where caught on small 10mm pop-ups and had been advised to use yellow. Tested the baits on the rigs at home and in the lake and they were balanced so they dropped down but not super quick, they would move easily if I wafted the water. When testing in the lake I literally hold the main line and just drop them in the margin to try a mimic a cast rather than laying them how I think they should be. All sat very well on top of low lying silk weed stuff. The water is super clear. Where the main line was tight it showed up a lot but slack it blended in quite well. When looking at the rigs in the margins I couldn't see the mainline near the rig at all and also couldn't see the rigs. My only worry was I had the Chod on some tubing which was rubbish, looped up of the bottom, very visible ! But I was silly as I did cast it out because it was the rod set up and I saw a fish head and shoulder just in front of me... as shown here I had a small weight at the top end of the tubing. The tubing was about a meter long, with a bead about a foot up from the lead (small 1/4oz square) and the Chod had about 2 foot movement to the top of the tube and the weight. I cast this to where I saw the fish and gently pulled back in the hope of straightening the tubing.
  20. So as best as I can remember I'll try and document the what's and why's of my last trip. The photo above shows the taken swims with a red cross and the free swims with a green tick. The yellow spot is where I fished and the pink squares with red cross are the swims that caught while I was there. First thing to note was the swims that caught were the windward side of the lake!
  21. Yeah don't type that into Google images....
  22. Ha ha! I thought that was a personal message.... whoops, soz mods!
  23. Slap her thighs and ride the waves in....
