  1. Could also just use a sea grip lead probably a little more stealthy i have the 2 Gardner versions
  2. Hardly any time at all definitly fishable within an hour
  3. have a look at the link I sent you there are big differences that’s why most go by diameter
  4. You could do a lot worse than watching a few of these videos https://youtube.com/@fishingtutorials
  5. No it cannot be too heavy you just need to use the clutch or wind backwards what reels do you have ? there are 2 types that cover “most” anglers fishing rear drag or front drag use this as a guide for the line https://tacklebox.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/line_tests_issue_13h.pdf a clear water with no snags you could use 10lb (around 5kg) line a lot of bits in the water you may need the stronger line 0.3/0.35 are general all round lines
  6. If you say it is littered with branches use the thicker line does your reel have an extra spool?
  7. All good then 👍👍👍 that line will probably be the least I would use
  8. Should be fine but You need to give more information for a better answer it depends on how big the fish are The set up may be overkill if the fish are small and the lake is clean with no weed etc
  9. The repair will probably last longer than the bivvy lol
  10. That just proves the point that a wrap is what ever distance you want it to be. I can’t be bothered with this any more lol
  11. According to Korda you should get a green one The BASIX Distance Sticks have designed to allow you to ‘clip-up’ at the required distance aseasily and accurately as possible, ensuring that you can recast to the same spot repeatedlywith your fishing rods and spod. Keeping a record of your spots will also mean that you areable to fish them again on future sessions, should you find ones that are productive.BASIX Distance Sticks have a stainless-steel point to allow them to easily be pushed orscrewed into the ground, and includes a green cord of exactly 12ft in length so that they caneasily be set the same distance apart each time. A T-bar is supplied to ensure they go into almost any ground with ease.
  12. But did you measure the cord… lol
  13. To a carp angler….yes to a club run by match men no lol
  14. And the warm wind trickling into your face..
  15. From new or just started doing it ?
  16. Like a days stubble lol
  17. Think that’s the same one I bought the boss says she’s not ready for me to go that short yet I’m on a 0 at the minute which is 1.5mm lol
  18. That’s what we have been saying a wrap is a wrap, length of which doesn’t matter its your decision to what the wrap is to you.. mine are all 12 foot because that’s the measure I use
  19. Not necessarily if the lead breaks free of the line it’s not fixed an inline will come free as long as the swivel is t jammed into the end of the rubber. incorrect set up will render it fixed “technically” a helicopter set up (chod rig style) is a fixed lead system but the hook length comes free you would need to get it clarified by a fishery manager to be on the safe side.
  20. I think you may find that distance sticks, wrap sticks what ever you want to call them do actually come with a cord. I have a set in each of my set ups and they all came with a cord so It doesn’t matter if you pick up an old snotty piece of string from the bank or shed and make a measurement with that it doesn’t matter how long it is as long as you set it up to the same distance every time you use it. 6” 6’ 10’ 50 ‘ it really doesn’t matter unless you tell anyone else your wrap measurement its not difficult lol
  21. Not sure how far it is from you but I think I would suggest go visit him if he’s that bad
  22. Exactly this… 6ft, 9ft,13ft rod length makes no difference to a wrap length. unless, you have no cord any other way, add up wrong and you could be in a tree or 50 yards short lol
  23. How big for reference against the mat?
  24. Isn’t it a pain in the rectum trying to organise stuff like this
