Air Drying/Rehydrating The Alternative View
cyborx replied to hutch's topic in UK Bait and Bait Making
i like to heat my boilies up, i put a kilo bag in a bucket and pour boiling water over them, add a good dollop of tuna or whatever you fancy oil and put the lid on. swish the bucket for a bit then leave for 20-30 mins, the liquid should be all gone and the boilies swelled to at least 50% bigger. give another coating of oil and they will be ready to ooze all that flavour out on the lake bed. my one excursion into freezer baits are now acting as ammo for keeping the next door cat away from my lawn -
Whats the point in a bait runner reel?
cyborx replied to phildalton1982's topic in Carp Fishing Tackle and Equipment
anyone who can not do exactly that on a bait runner/free spool reel needs to get lessons in how to set up their kit IMO of course as to the second part of the statement, i have seen people loosing off the front drag to do the same thing, one chap loosened it so much that on the take his spool flew off. so have a good think and then tell me that there is no point in incorporating a safety feature that takes noddys out of the equation. no offence intended of course -

Whats the point in a bait runner reel?
cyborx replied to phildalton1982's topic in Carp Fishing Tackle and Equipment
my fishing is not all about sitting on my rods, tensed over and getting stressed over every little twitch of the indicators, its about relaxing and unwinding. i dont knowingly fish snags either, for the most part when static i fish open water in the day and margins at night so yes i do rely on my bait runner to stop my rods going in. but then, thats just me -
i think my major problem is that i like my comfort to much to compromise.

finally home with number two in the bag, pretty common with alternate black and silver scales, low double around 13.5. didnt bag a 30+ but their is always next time both fish came out to SSP baits system x boilies in beige gravel, one snowman stylie with a cut down hi viz pink pop up and one wafter style with a cork insert over prodigy baits particle mix like gaz i was packing up in the rain after using the new bivvy for the first time, damn i need some practice i also need to cut down on the cr ap i take with me, two barrow loads pushed over 700 yards in the rain is no joke at my age. #feelinold blame Gaz for the outbreak of hashtags

this man is a wizard when it comes to reimagining old methods, for years i have placed my bread flake on the hook in the conventional way and then used a little pva tape to hold it for a long cast, novel i thought, innovative if you will. enter Kevin and the BREAD BOMB!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awecQhjBxoI#action=share a little thought and this could have been me, just like the Gardener suspender float, i had been making those for 20+ years before they came on the market. i bet the patents on those two alone would have made up my pension have any of you ever been in this position where you have seen a new bit of kit come on the market that was a slight adaption or tweak on something that you developed specifically yourself?

whoa there bud!! i think you may have the wrong end of the stick, i have absolutely zero problem with any race, eastern europeans included, as long as they whoever they are respect the laws and the customs of the country that they choose to inhabit. you will notice that the romanians who 'STOLE' fish from barston decided to ignore the laws on theft, misappropriation of private property etc. I have not said anywhere on here that i agree with what is going on, i have NOT put ANYONE in any basket. if you read back over you will see that it was in fact YOU that was calling out about discrimination, and i know exactly how many EE anglers there are around me at any given time because i communicate with other anglers while i am on the bank and MY opinion is formed by MYSELF not some moaner on a forum somewhere. yes i had noticed that you (and dont misconstrue this statement) either do not write well or English is not your native language, either way it matters not to me as the only thing you need to have in common with me is a love for angling. and yes, thankfully we do live in a civilized country, a land where every man is a king of his own castle but a land where we have rules and laws in place to keep it civilized and a land where it is expected that you adhere to those rules and laws. if you dont you will be punished, the problem is that you may also get your fellows punished too and that is the fault of the one who broke the law not me bud. you are winding me up now with your whining on about the poor people that thru no fault of mine cannot fish barston so i shall block you and have done ok -

one thing i will add is that you cant blame the staff for their attitude when this kind of theft has multiplied exponentially with the influx of eastern european immigrants as well as the documented cases in the news and warnings by our police about how to approach suspects and what to look out for, an eastern european type accent is one of them, if this sort of discrimination is to be stopped it will have to be tackled by the peoples themselves as they are the ones who know who is stealing stock and they are the ones who will buy the carp to eat. i mean ffs there are much tastier fish in the sea lol -

i can see where you are coming from but, if you went into a corner shop to get some ciggies and the person behind the counter refused to serve you cos you didnt look right would you then stand outside and slag off the shop owner or tell him what has gone on? if you went to tesco and the bloke on the till was disrespectful cos he was having a bad day, would you then stand outside with a placard saying that tesco were racist/discriminatory no you would prob go home and fire off an email to the CEO telling them how disgusted you were at the behavior of (grab the name from his tag) fred ferret on isle three at so and so time. in short i would let the management know what was going on with the staff and get something positive done about it instead of bleating on here about how hard done by you are. i guess that you are a regular on there, if so have they stopped you from fishing, or are you just naggy at the seeming discriminatory behavior of the staff toward Eastern Europeans? if the first i would ask for a good reason before taking legal action, if the second then it will settle down as and when fish thefts slow or stop, meanwhile just enjoy the peace and quiet of a day on the bank btw, none of the above was meant as a personal dig at you -

to be honest mate i dont now and cant see that i ever will fish at barston so their problems are never going to be my problems are they. the only reason that i commented on your first post was because i saw that it was a possibly damaging remark and as they have suffered a lot of thefts from there i reasoned that it was unfair to post something that could potentially affect them even more. as it turned out a quick phonecall has given me all the answers i required to refute your post. if members of staff are going over and above their remit then that is a matter for people like you who are on the ground to bring to the attention of the responsible parties (I.E. da management) and NOT to do more harm by possibly damaging membership with incitive posts on a public forum. -

ok!! i have just come off the phone with a senior member of staff for the barston complex, here is the situation from the horses mouth. Barston as a business has to do everything in its power to preserve the stocks and grounds of the complex in order to survive as a company in light of recent thefts by persons unknown, management have made the decision to require visitors to the pools to fill out membership application forms stating Name, address and phone number. the above is so that contact details are on record in the event of that person being reported for ANY misdemeanor/rule infringement and this includes but is not restricted to fish theft, anyone not willing to give these details is asked to leave the complex and not return. so it seems that you have jumped to the wrong conclusion Alzak, it pays to do some research before posting such a potentially damaging remark. if you want to check this out for yourself just give them a call on 01675 444890. jon xxx -
