  1. They are just responding in the only way left to them. They can't vet everyone who goes there to see if they are good lads or not. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  2. hi Kingnewport and welcome to the forum, mr newmarket has given some good advice but just my 1p worth, i would personally drop down to a 2.25lb test curve which will still give you good indication on a light feeder while being able to cope with that happy accident when a biggie comes along. Some cracking rods out there for around the same price as the one you are looking at. i personally have the Mat Hayes feeder rod for light stuff and for its price its bang on, also the Chub Outkast in 2.25 or the Fox Warrior S, they are all good rods when balanced with the right reel. as said, get yourself down to the local tackleshop (if you can find one) and do some feeling, ask if they can set the rods up with a few reels too so you get a proper feel for the balance. happy shopping
  3. wow!! thanks for that androoooo, i haven't been down for a bit as its holiday season and had not heard about this. was gonna sneak a quick one in on thursday cos im off again friday
  4. as far as i can see Jim, tubing will help to protect the fish from line rubbing its flanks and scale lifting. tubing will also help stop abrasion on your line from gravel or swan muscles etc and also with the camouflaging of your line. a leader will also do some of these things but mainly assist in helping you to chuck a three stone lead over the horizon without cracking off
  5. just wondering, is the outfall the one between the riverside caravan park and the college? and just to repeat, are nights allowed? very interested
  6. this is the way i remember him, what the hell was with the twig in the back pocket tho???
  7. My third attempt and I think I can say it's standing now lol Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  8. cars bikes and golf clubs i cant fault, but women being organic can and often do go off
  9. Matrix launched the matrix carpmaster rod in 2011, this help?? welcome to the forum btw
  10. Hang on bud i will dig it off me phone, the wife is always ringing it
  11. my method. buy a pac of funky monkey juice cups cut spam into half inch cubes take straw from juice pac and using the sharp end push a hole thru the cube of meat, this will leave a nice 2mm hole add powdered curry or turmeric to your cubes and then seal in a bag freeze for at least a week till solid give funkey monkey juice to the kids keep meat in a coolbag or sumsuch and when you get to the bank you can mount the frozen meat thru the hole previously made, it will cast really well if freelined but will slowly sink as it thaws out, at this point you can either wind in and refresh or leave it to sink while holding the line 'touch ledger' style. i have found this to be a killer method when all else fails
  12. thought so bud but i had to make sure, plus it gave me an opportunity to comment on summat dont get many of those these days

  14. Tim, you do know that the name 'safezone' does not refer to the kit being safe dont ya?? its called safezone as it is supposed to be invisible or under the radar so the fish feel safe, talk about missnaming things eh!
  15. i have searched online for the underwater 8 vid but cant find it at any of my usual sources, and thats bad for a 2-3 yr old piece. it looks to me as if he has got the bead on a tail rubber/rig tube or a bit of putty rolled up the line, eitherway i would think that it would slide up the leader with a little pressure whereas if it was hit by the lead on a take the bead would act as a temporary brake on the lead. if the pressure on the bead was constant as in the lead pushing the bead it would slide up and free the ledger so making it a safe rig. if i could have found the vid of ali making it up then i would have been able to give a better synopsis.
  16. i would presume that you will be making your findings known to messrs Eagle Claw? will put a stop to that damn seal wannabe from prancing about on the promo vids may even prompt them to take a closer look at their product, could be good for future batches
  17. there is absolutely nothing i could say to add to that
  18. hi simon, i wouldnt worry too much about the fishing in oz as they intend to totally eradicate every invasive species (introduced or otherwise) by the year 2020. i wonder if they realize that the white man is also an invasive species? there is quite a bit on here about C&R in oz, you just have to look for it. welcome to the forum btw
  19. i really enjoy sharpening my own hooks, exactly as the trokar ones are done actually. i get a lot of satisfaction too when i land a fish and see that the hook has performed perfectly and as it should do so strangely enough a hook that does not need my little bit of input would bore me. for those reasons alone i'm out
  20. i make up a messy rig when i know im on silt, messy because i floss 3 or 4 nugs on the lead and put one on the hook point too. i have dropped this in the margins and they sink nice and slow but i am missing the bolt effect that you get with a plugged lead.
  21. killer method if you can get them at it close in
  22. explain to a noddy, how do you gauge the depth of the silt if you are fishing say 50 or 60 yds out?
  23. my usual tactic for floaters is to 1) get em feeding pref in a tight circle so they are competitive 2) toss them one mixer at a time so that they are snatching at it 3) flick one out with a hook in close to the feeding end of the fish 4) as soon as it goes in the mouth carpy will turn away and you give a sharp strike 5) enjoy the ride oh yeh, edit to say that you get a better presentation using a fly tied imitation, the hook is invisible and they float. if you get some meaty glug in a spray bottle and give a squirt every now and then too dont hurt
  24. hi there teresa and welcome to the forum, this thread is over a year old and i dare say the mr-jermy has found out by now but really good info for anyone else that may be interested
