  1. Well done Neil You really do need to stop hob nobbing with the stars and get yourself down to a social with all us commoners
  2. Get yourself a St Helens AA Card m8 i think there about £30 and you get Carr Mill Dam and The Hotties stretch of canal thats chocca with carp up to low 20,s
  3. It's awesome stuff. Used it for leaders and for hooklengths for big stuff. I was shown this by a fellow member at Cromwell (he even give me some coz he,s a nice guy!) and i was amazed by it I dont know if his recent capture included this product i,ll let him comment but lets just say it was a BIG fish
  4. It all depends on if you have access to a car or not theres a few good fisheries within 30mins of Liverpool
  5. The Guru method feeders are the only safe elastic feeders i know of but i dont like elasticated feeders myself

  7. Ask the lads who had 30lb+ fish at cromwell if they hate chods Not everyone hates them mate just some people have different opinions

  11. Your right Jez Cudmore not connected to Doddington anymore
  12. Doddington is connected to the Cudmore complex Northwich,Lymm and Warrington all have good waters in the area but it can get busy round this end Jules lots of anglers chasing too few fish Prince Albert have some of the better Meres but there will be a waiting list i expect Have a little look at Wheelock Angling Society Not sure if theres a waiting list tho Just looked mate and there is a waiting list mate
  13. As i said in an early post Coops the one,s me and the mate made up were solid and we did our best to snap em
  14. Location is the norm mate try the search facility theres a few threads on river location but its the usuall suspects wides, slack areas cover etc etc The one thing i would say about river carping is the prebait..... A kilo or two of particles/boilies can get blitzed by shoal fish before the carp even get near If you find a carpy looking area bait quite heavy so there something left for when the carp turn up
  15. Used my Zepplin pike float to good effect zigging last year Got the idea off this site
  16. You can nightfish some of his lakes mate others on there are days only
  17. My mate got the wychwood ones at christmas and we made some small choddys up today with E.S.P bristel filament and they look really tidy and after giving them a good pull im confident that there really strong If me and the mate carnt break em i doubt a fish will
  18. Commonwood Went on the runs water last year with a mate and there was 3 other anglers on there and 2 fish came out all day (both 5lb ish) His specimen lake looks like it was set up to get as many anglers on there as possible and if someone caught a fish it would definatly take out a few anglers lines It may of changed but i dont think i ll be going back as he had anglers on his speci pool while he was still digging it Spoke to a lad who,d fished it 4x24hr sessions and hadnt caught so it may of changed but it just wasnt for me Gweryd I fished this a few times about5/6 years ago and its a really lovely place up in the mountains and i always did ok there for a few runs and if you can get near the sunken peat islands then ue ll have a few A mate from work goes regular and bait boats his rigs to the opposite side of the peat islands and has done really well there on 48hr sessions Id deffo give here a go You might also want to look at Lakemoor in Crewe as thats not far from you and also Llyn y gors thats in anglesey
  19. I got the little round 1 anglers mail gave out years ago I think i payed a couple of quid for my big square 1 i used in Ireland in the early 90,s I,m not sure if there still about a lot of tip anglers switched to braid in the mid/late 90,s so a target board became a bit redundant
  20. Well in the good old days (i sound old ) 99% of tip fishing was done for silvers/bream and as cob, kieran has said it was all about sensativity ue,d set your rod up as normal and were your tip was u,ed put a little target board with lines on and then if u lined ur tip on with one of the lines you could see then bites if it move from 1 line to another !!!!! the bites really would be that shy But only for the silvers if you had a better fish ya tip just use to start bending and keep goin
  21. I thought we was advising fantasticmrfox on fishing drayton thats why i advised the heavier tip I too started fishing on the tip for silvers and and would think nothing of using maggot on an 18 hook with a 2ft hooklenght with my 1.5oz And im sure if i went digging in my shed id find my old target board a bit of kit that was essential in the 80,s but forgotten about in this day and age
  22. So in the summer when the fish are more active and your target size fish are 3-6lb carp would you still tackle up with a 1.5/2oz tip or start on a 3/4oz tip ???
