Thanks but i dont think i will replace the broken rod, i do have a second one, these were purchased maybe 15 years ago as what i called "My retirement rods" for when i found time to fish again, the really good thing about the rod is it will happily float fish with a stick float and 7lb line, or cast a 1.5 ounce lead and boilie a good distance, i guess this is the issue with Carbon compared to glass fibre, Carbon is more prone to snapping.
I still have my 11ft glass fibre rods so may start using one of them on small pond but just with bottom bait set up
