  1. No reason why you cant use 2", i tend to use 4" in bags and have done ok when using them.
  2. Personally i hate heli rigs as the angle of pull against the lead is all wrong while playing the fish (IMHO) and i wont use this set up unless forced into it due to lake bed conditions. I find the hinged still link fished as a running lead is giving as good catches as the chod and i dont lose fish on it.
  3. No boilies, no nuts, no pellets (unless bought on site) no floating baits, no hemp, maximum size 14 hook etc.
  4. Are you on about the fishery just outside of Kiddy. If so its a match water and if i remember not really aimed at the specialist anger with some of the rules like maximum hook sizes etc.

    Rig Setup

Because carp dont have hands to shift the beads off them
  6. 39lb would be a new river record i believe beating Dan's 38, anyway cracking fish and well done to the captor.
  7. True, i'm certain the fish has gone as it was a target of my lads and we aint seen it in ages. I hope its still there but i dont think so.
  8. Nobody fishes it for the carp as for the Koi i'm pretty sure its gone walkabout or died over the winter. It used to stick out like a sore thumb in a water that is only a couple of feet deep. With the freeze up we had this past winter i wouldn't be surprised if a few were lost in that lake.
  9. Heard a rumour it might of gone walkies as a mate of mine aint seen it for a while.
  10. Quite a few wildie commons around the low double mark, last i heard the koi came out at about 27lb.
  11. Tie a bit of pva behind them before the cast.
  12. I put it at 15lb max, how many coarse anglers out there actually carry decent scales etc. On the river i weigh loads of barbel for people who think they have caught a double and most of the time they are 7lb at the most. This fish is 28lb 2oz and i'm an 18st porker as my mrs puts it lol. If that fish is 30lb this one must be 50lb
  13. I would be using a drop off inline lead on a weedy water, if you aren't it will certainly help you.
  14. Yep the carp came from the grange although there are still loads left in there. Madebrooke has always had a few decent ones and the bottom pool also has a few in it as me and my lad had a few out of it last year. Was one of the 22's you had this one by any chance
  15. The carpark can be a bit iffy although its not as bad as it used to be. I never really had to many problems fishing the place but i did know all the nutters around there at the time lol. I would go chat to a few lads fishing it and see what they have to say. If you are looking for a quiet water it aint the place for you.
  16. On the Randley Estate just up above the carpark or on the Holiday inn carpark. Best bet if possible is to get dropped off.
  17. I know a couple of pools near Berrington, one a syndi the other is a stunning no access water that i would of killed to fish a few years back. Twice got escorted away by shotgun weilding gamekeepers lol. Not sure who now runs the syndi but it wasn't a big fish water from what i can remember. Do know of another thats not to far away from there but if you have to ask about it you will never get on it.
  18. Dan, have a look here http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=49425
  19. mega busy every weekend in my experience,i fish there about 10 48h sessions a year on there and it has been busy every time Thats why i stopped fishing Manor etc
  20. All i can say is i hope you like loads of company, linear over the holiday= mega busy.
  21. No way is there a 36 in the top pool, both have fish to just over the 20 mark but the top pool fish have been mullered over the years.
