size 7 barbel hooks fantastic. god knows why they call them barbel hooks Is that the Super Specialist Hook as they used to be called? I used to use them years ago and they were Mega Sharp. The only problem I had was the Lake I was fishing some of the Gravel was so severe it would take the Point off almost every cast! No Nick its a new hook not the same as the supers these are teflon coated as mega strong well worth a look at in size 10/11/12.

Most of the time I agree with Neil but not on this one. I have seen the double hooking and damage that this rig can cause. Agreed it is usually on smaller fish that this occurs with the use of the longshank hooks and on big fish waters it is 99% of the time ok but why take the risk. I now dont use this rig and I dont get outfished by anglers on my waters who do.

I havent fished it for a while but I do tend to keep in touch with whats happening there. Maggots are a must as most of the fish still get caught on them. I found big bunches of maggots didnt work as well as just a few on the hook or 5 or 6 super glued to a nylon d rig. Try using a large drennan blockend feeder instead of PVA bags its far cheaper and just as good. Other than that I had a few on flouros fished with 2 bait stringers cast out to the middle of the lake. Other than pegs 2 and 3 the features never produced for me it was always out in the middle where I caught.
