  1. Funny this should come up as today i have been fishing and having a chat to Alex who is the Fisheries manager for Rob's waters. Have a good chat with him or Dave Treasure (other bailiff) who will try and put you onto fish.
  2. I wouldn't bank on it being quiet with this mild weather. I've been down on Boxing day in the past and couldn't get a swim. If there is space available i would fish Manor or Hardwick/Smiths for a good size fish as i used to find st johns to busy for my liking. If you want a few fish then one of the brasenose waters are the ones to fish. PS. my profile pic is a manor fish from memory it's a 32+
  3. Dont think they have rules other than grabbing your money aff you
  4. Rushes is a fantastic venue for a first trip to France. Looking forward to my visit next year and it sounds like a party is in order on the friday night at the ends of Welders and Co. week.
  5. They will never get all the fish out of the grange, they have been trying for years lol.
  6. Its hard in the summer as for the winter well lets just say a few years back six of us did a total of 200+ nights between us for one 14lb common. Did hear about a decent pike off there last year but not 100 % certain of the size.
  7. Trench is hard and i mean really hard but some nice fish to be caught if you can get your head around the weed which not many do.
  8. I think our eastern european friends have had some out of the Blue, while no lets not say think lets say they have had some blue pool fish away. It certainly hasn't got the size of fish in it that it did when i was fishing it seven or eight years ago. As for middle i have heard the odd snippet that a couple of Trench fish might of been moved over to the middle on the sly. I hope not as Trench is a far better water even if its a ball breaker and the trench fish are stunning.
  9. so you would be ned flanders then! Duff i need Duff
  10. In the past when they have netted stock ponds etc and the likes of little apley they have put fish into the middle.
  11. Loads of carp in the middle, another decent taa water with a good head of doubles and the odd 20 is the wide waters.
  12. I lived right next to Homer for the best part of eight years. Never fished a bottom bait on it but me and my lad used to stalk a few out ( would be rude not to as only 30yds to the lake). Best we had was about the 18lb mark but we did see bigger fish. I witnessed a 24lb mirror off the school bank 6 years ago.
  13. If the coating cracks you are adding an extra hinge point to the rig negating the stiffness of the coated braid at that point. Now on some rigs that might be an advantage but on others you want the hooklink to remain stiffish and not to have that hinge point.
  14. Korda N-trap doesn't crack at all when tying a figure 8 loop.
  15. BAA have pools and lakes too with carp to over 30lb. http://www.baa.uk.com/where_to_fish/default.php They've also rivers with carp to 40lb and a few decent ones in the canal system as well.
  16. From what they tell me if they hit on a sucessful tactic it had a habit of being banned lol.
  17. I know a couple of lads who are on the water. They love it as the gaffer looks after you but they also say he has a habit of changing the rules as he goes along if they were catching to many fish. From what i can gater fish to upper 20s but nothing massive yet, i know there has been problems with lots of small fish in the past but i dont know the situation now.
  18. It was the early 90s i was down that way, mostly down on the boat pool at horton.
  19. Oh i've fished Yateley a bit, used to have a gold card in the Ian Welsh days as i used to go catting with him a bit in the past.
  20. Thought you might be i know trench were the blue pig is and middle pool. is that safe at night or they to much greif.. I've not had any problems down there, Trench has some stunning fish and to me is harder but the better of the two waters.
  21. Pull the rig out straight with a couple of rig pullers etc and then hold over the steam from a kettle for a few seconds. This should straigten them out, just store on a rig board afterwards.
  22. Exactly i'm not sure who runs the syndi as you say it's who you know.
  23. Well fella you seem to no were he's talking about why don't you help the fella out..... Couple of pools around Berrington that i know, one is syndi with next to no chance of getting on and the other one is well hidden away with no fishing.
