salokcinnodrog reacted to B B in July Catch Reports
Had a afternoon session on a general fishery with my mate, he picked me up from work and sort of kidnapped me Ā š
I used his gear fishing off the top with floaters but they wasnāt interested one bit ..orrr so I thought Ā š¤
I found a floating feeder in his bag and mixed up some ground bait on the dry ish side, a small pebble inserted to give it a bit more weight and plugged off with the ground bait with a 12ā hook length ⦠and had 5 carp on the trot š³Ā
Heres a pic of his feeder Ā or his mrs feeder ā¦looks like he got it from a Ann Summers catalogue
Korum got a small floating feeder I might give it a go when Iām at linear at the end of the monthĀ

Oops, just ended up buying more RH Nutty Bait.
I've still got around 5k in freezer, and 7/8k of shelf life's, but I can feel a big baitup coming on.
I also ended up with some 15mm pink Nutty Bait, 12mm Monster Crab pop-ups and some Naturalz for barbel and chub.

I put the putty on the loop knot, secures the putty and lowers the pop-up to the max.Ā Seems to work high, low or medium just adjust to suit what your fishing over.
Pic is the stiff bottom end version

salokcinnodrog got a reaction from kevtaylor in Mallards eating carp eggs?
Carp eggs and fry are food for many birds, even insects; tufties, mallards, pochards, dragonfly larvae
Ā
Ā
The syndicate manager has put some of the weed with eggs into another small pond on the estate. I had a look last year, definitely some have come through as baby carp.
Ā
This is one of the fish that we got eggs from:

Sky lies at the top of the stairs up to my flat while I take all the gear down and load the car, and is ready to get straight in while I do my last minute lock up checks.

Just bought 25kg of spod mix which should give me 50kg of cooked bait for less than £13, result! No Carp tax for me!

salokcinnodrog got a reaction from kevtaylor in ESP buzz bars look nice
Don't do the 'shiny' thing in front of me pleaseĀ
I don't need any help spending money
Seriously I got Solar buzz bars to go with the P1 pod as the Nazeing banks were rock hard, often setting up on hardcore or on pallets.Ā
With the softer banks of Alton and Botesdale I ended up getting the P1 adaptors so I could fish goalpost on banksticks as while the water is high I rarely need the pod.
I must admit though, that Solar stainless gear is expensive, but it does last. I own banksticks I bought in the 1990's and the P1 pod is now over 10years old.
Where has that time gone?
Ā
On the ESP note, Drennan are another manufacturer who rarely produce a bad item, most is properly researched and developed before release.

salokcinnodrog reacted to kevtaylor in Low chair/bed chair (Solar or other suggestions)
First trip out using the chair, seems pretty light but obvs not as light as my other.
Pack down it's wide so takes up room in the car but fitted on the barrow behind the bed.Ā Bars cross over when packed down would be better if all these chairs folded flatter and smaller.
Comfy in use on the bed, you dont feel the bar underneath which was my initial concern, also comfy on the bank using the lowest back bar for a low rider style option or thicker one for more upright.
Nice having back adjustment, pretty happy with it tbh.

salokcinnodrog got a reaction from Higham1987 in Low chair/bed chair (Solar or other suggestions)
I did find a 'relax mat' handy for sitting in front of the bedchair, and it does also work on the barrow as long as you get get your feet either side of the wheel, just don't put too much weight backwards...
