  1. Hi Mate, Welcome to the Forum. I know how hard Ardleigh is to fish, I fished it for a year . Looking on a couple of fisheries I know in Essex, one is reasonably well known, but the other I can find very little information on. Think Foxearth has been featured in one of the Carp Mags, but has just gone on Syndicate
  2. And not forgetting the Lift float method and stalking. Fluorocarbon or Mono hooklink. Loop to loop from mainline to hooklink
  3. Drennan Double Strength, Drennan Sub Surface Green Fly Leader or Trilene XL. Think you will find Amnesia is miles too stiff.
  4. Looped, Mantis version of a pop-up Rig that Ken Townley advocated in Big Carp. I use it for single critically balanced Pop-ups on slightly fluffy bottom, where I want the Pop-up to be just above the Bottom Layer. As can be seen from the Nylon attached to the Ring I TIE the Pop-up onto the ring, and use the small Tag under the Eye for the Counterbalance weight. The hook I have used is a Carp-R-Us Centurion in a size 6 Add a shot that won't quite sink the Bait and hook and then gradually enough putty so that it only just sinks. Or as has been pointed out, Snowman Baits, trimming either until you get it right
  5. Mmmmm but I think that's enough now I must be honest, I wasn't expecting those comments from you Nick, more a few words in a PM like "COOL IT" or even... "you have just received a life long ban from this forum because......" (but that'd make too many people too happy) Lol, I thought about it , but I think on this thread alone simply because of the name of the Damn rig its going to slide . Besides, I may be a Grade A Pain in the butt, but even occasionally I have a Sense of Humour
  6. Jay, ROFL I think you need a Thread all on your own for Double Entendres, metaphors, and Malapropisms
  7. Looks more like a pair of cherries on a stalk to me. Thats it! I can re-name it the cherry rig, kills 2 birds with 1 stone. I get a rig named by myself, preserving myself for immortality , and also it stops the Damn swearing on the Forum
  8. Basic Knotless knotted hook and hair as per the sticky at the top of the page
  9. Cheers for that Mate I've looked at the website, and the quoted Biggest fish is 35lbs, but I had heard of something a little bigger The website gives prices for all Tickets except the Season Ticket
  10. Gosfield Lake I heard about this Lake years ago, and know where it is and that there is Water Skiing on the same Lake and that there were plenty of Matches won with Skimmer Bream. I also heard of a few BIG Carp in there, just wondered if anyone knows anymore about it regarding Fish Sizes. I know what the Rumour Mill says, but would like to know the Truth if anyone is able to say any more. What is the cost of Season Ticket? Is it an easy or Hard water for the Carp?
  11. Yep, same thread link as I posted in New To Carp Fishing http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=12577&highlight=hooks That one covers What are the Best Hooks 3 or 4 pages of opinions
  12. The one I had tied I had a normal hair going down the Shank, and the 2 top baits were in place with a Loop of nylon going under the Knotless knot at the top and the baits held in place on that
  13. And the maximum that you can concentrate on CCTV for is a maximum of 20minutes! Its down to Education again. Everyone (though not us) thinks that that is what Street Cleaners/Bailiffs are there for, its happens everywhere and not just at Fisheries. The Lake I was at today had Bins behind almost every other swim and there was no Rubbish about and its Day Ticket now. I think the right to Ban Litter droppers should be exercised and enforced
  14. Good idea, but we already moan about Big Brother watching. Well Bailliffed waters with regular checks would help. Actually check Rod licences when arriving on (Day ticket) Waters and then if the Peg has litter in when an Angler leaves then the angler should be banned. LOL, You and me both
  15. Litter is an Absolute PET HATE of Mine. From bits of line and general Rubbish. I must admit to dropping my Tab end of Roll Ups, but since its paper and tobacco only and NO Filter. Yet Filter ends I pick up and put in the bin bag. I seem to go home with more litter than I know I made, carrier bags and Bait Bucket almost always filled up with mine and what I picked up The strangest thing though, why do people take great care in pushing a Bag of Litter into the Deepest darkest Brambles, risking Life and Cuts and Prickles? it takes less effort to take it home. The absolute worst though has to be people who can't be bothered to tidy up after having a Dump on the Bank, leaving Excrement and Bog roll about is disgusting. BAG IT AND BIN IT or BURY IT!
  16. Thinking about the Description of the Doghouse the Baits were lowered into the Margins rather than cast out in most cases
  17. ]
  18. Alton is very hard for Carp Fishing, and the size and Rules make it even harder. Its over 350 acres in size There are a few Carp in there, to over 30lbs, but there is NO Night Fishing allowed, there are No Fishing Areas. Anyone who catches Carp out of the Reservoir will have done: a) a lot of hard work finding them b) almost definitely broken the rules
  19. Lol, I was using it at Taverham back in 1992!
  20. The Water Knot when its tied smoothly does go through the rings easily. Definitely one that needs practice though
  21. Think its this one: The pics aren't the best quality, I couldn't scan the rig as Baits are attached.
  22. Lol, Refine your google search! I've got one tied up somewhere, will dig it out for you
  23. Carp-R-Us Clearwater. It knots well, and also has a bit of stretch, unlike most Fluorocarbons. I nearly always use a Uni Knot on it, although it does take the Loop Knot well at the swivel end
  24. http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=26205 Its not new! , and it hasn't changed its name Have been using it occasionally for years when I could convince myself to tie it
