  1. I did give it a go summer just gone but they really don't show themselves or I'm just looking in all the wrong places lol. I've always got my rigged and ready rod setup for floater fishing( brilliant rod). Not seen a single carp take off the surface and I've sat for hours without a line in the water just watching. The roach clean everything up like piranhas. Was told by a Bailiff that they always took off the surface but since they had a few new fish put in a few years ago nobody has had one off the surface since. I have managed a few fish in the day. Only 4 in a year(not counting the pike, bream n roach). Best being a PB mirror of 34lbs and never seen nobody catch one. Just hear stories of the night fishing boys saying they had a few
  2. Here's my first fish of the year. Was -4 to start the session. Had a run, lifted into it but nothing on the end( thinking small fish with just bait in its mouth ). Then for the next few hours I could see my line pulling tight n slackening back off but not actually taking. Turns out pva wasn't melting (my mix of condensed milk and manilla being over cooked n like caramel stopping the PVA dissolving)(first time trying condensed milk). About 4pm I seen a fish show to the right of me, nowhere near where I was fishing so I quickly boshed a chod together and within 30mins, boom, fish on. Managed to land a 17.32 mirror saving me a blank. Not massive but always nice to get a winter carp
  3. There's one that I'm currently on about a 7 acre low stock lake but some nice fish. Not many fish come out in the day (but I keep trying knowing it's a difficult water as I find that a challenge) but the lake comes alive in the night but.... night tickets are like gold dust. Really want a night ticket to get this water out my system
  4. Merry fishmas everyone and a carpy new year 🎊
  5. Nice 22lber after a cold damp day. Light had just gone so was just about to pack away n this bad boy saved me a blank. Only 4 out this this particular lake all year and they've all been winter fish. Cant wait to be allowed a night ticket
  6. Wonder if there's a usb option
  7. It may have been stuck in a tree at some point but i found it floating in the margin n the split shot seems solid where they are.
  8. The float wasn't weighted to sink. Looks like they're were using the float to fish just under surface. I thought when you ledgered with a float the stop had to be alot further up the line. Maybe some bodge job at a some kind of zig rig
  9. Yeah 🤯

    November catch reports

Few chunks from the other night. The biggest first n the best last lol
  11. Dunno if I'm missing some secret rig here but anyone seen this before. I always pick up stinky winky that people have left behind and even pull floats n rigs out of trees ect. Whilst taking a stroll around a small carp only lake I noticed a float so I removed it to find the setup in the image.
  12. Thats something I've never thought of. Between the bikes, fishing gear n tools. Think most of it would just go to my lads
  13. You got a good wife then & the ladders are definitely worth getting rid of before the fishing kit. The older I get the less I like being up ladders n on roofs especially in the winter months. Hope your health picks up
  14. No snow with me neither, just cold n wet. I went last sat n TBF had a good night so I have to settle with the win for a few weeks. Setup just before darkness fell n had 5 fish but after 5am the wind n rain came n it went dead all the next day.
  15. Yeah from UK but online as there's nowhere near me to buy carp stuff, only the odd bit of cheap terminal tackle locally. They're defo going back. Maybe black Friday deal might have something at a nice price. I'll just chop a few lines off the kids Christmas lists lol
  16. Think on most it might help but these have pretty crisp edges. The bevel on the clip is pretty sharp and with the spool where the line is near the clip. I ran a plastic card over it and look how it cut into that They're going back I think. I got maker elastic so can manage with that for now(might not be quite as accurate) They got a years warranty just gotta get Christmas out of the way(kids to buy pressies for) as I like winter fishing and don't want to be without reels until all the refund rubbish is sorted(gave my old ones away to someone wanting to start out). Bites might be few n far between but alot less anglers out there since most pack up until spring. Emailed sonik to see they're response and they just told me to send them back to where I bought them so no help at all.
  17. Supposed to be 30lb hypa-vis. It defo hypa something 🤬
  18. If I wrap the mono like first image it snaps after a few pulls but if I wrap it like the second image it seems to withstand alot more abuse but still damages the line
  19. Looks like the line clips are poorly designed if you ask me. I've sat here and snapped the braid at the clip with just a few pulls and tried the same with my mono on my other spools and they're getting damaged n finally snapping( 1 is loaded with 20lb nash bullet and the other 2 loaded with 18lb syncro xt )
  20. I was only wrapping it once but have read to wrap it around clip 2 or 3 times
  21. Would I be better off using something as a backing line to fill the spool abit as it takes 600m of line depending on thickness and 600m spools of braid are abut pricey
  22. Be just my luck. I'll get creative n strap it instead of something. Thanks for the heads up
  23. I've purchased it. It's got rubber feet so should be fine on the work surface. I'll have to drill some holes to fix it to a board.
  24. Possible as thats where it's always broke. Not had it long and only used a handful of times Will have to take it down the field and have a few casts. Hopefully it's just a combination of cheap preloaded braid and user error. Maybe hitting the clip to hard. Was only casting 7 wraps
  25. Thanks. I suppose the leader helps absorb some of the shock. It's always broke at the clip. Last time I was out I landed up giving up and throwing it all in the margins and watching the pike trash all the roach right under my rod tip. Kept me entertained whilst busy blanking
