Also I've had some regal BR in the past, they won't be as good as the okuma. And okuma have a 5yr warranty.
I'm more leaning towards the Nash BP4 FD Mini Pit reels (All Black)....second hand
If was to buy new would be between the Okumas, Xtraxtor or Daiaw Regal....just small (ish) carp reel for the 6ft Rods.

I think it would be good idea to have a section of the forum where people post links to good you tube videos they have recently watched.
Could just open a new Topic/Thread under "YouTube Watches" ??
There's quite a few coming out now, plenty Products Videos...

I did the same to a fox x pod years ago
Had to alter the bars to suit also

Done it a few times really, don't like long pods, but this is proppa compact, I love it 🤣🤣.
The Fox Alarms are also quite decent.

2x Fox Mini Micron V2, Alarm Battery's, Discover 2 Rod Pod, 3x Red Bobbins, 3x Spring Butt Rests, Korda Mdm PVA Bags, Spool OMC 15lb Line, few leads, Nash Claw Hooks Sz 8...
The 2 rod pod I've cut down to be "Super" Compact and fits in Backpack.
Should look like the below.
Respooled the reels and setup the rods on it before i cut it down though...
Nice little 6ft setup, all compact and only need to bags for EVERYTHING....Rod Bag, Backpack, Chair, Beanie Mat & Bait Bucket with all PVA Bag goodies in 😁.

After having a little play with sinkers and some putty last night, I decided I didn't like the way the sinkers make the rig sit off the deck, the hook and bait looked almost like it was floating, I attached some putty to the swivel and instantly thought that's better, however I don't want to attach putty to the swivel as it will fall off, or stop the rig working as it should, so I got straight online to purchase some korda dark matter balancing weights. I went for the heaviest ones, hopefully these will be heavy enough to hold down the proper jobs. If not it will be back to the drawing board.
I did also try different sized loops, with the sinkers, small loops could leave it presenting oddly, and bigger loops just sat off the deck too much but left it presented well everytime.
Fancy thinking I was finished with this rig lol
Honestly, the ESP balance beads are awesome...1 side is a thin bore side to cover knots, other side is slightly wider bore to cover swivel eyes...

Thats what im doing £40 for the year got specimen lake with maybe 175 carp to mid 30`s plus some canal fishing, got rid of proper bivvy and bed chair years ago as i knew i was done with session stuff
The gear I've got now will just serve me for my days, but waiting for a claim to be paid out from work and will be getting a FULL setup back.

feeling like i made wrong choice getting the 12ft rods, im learning more about the lake im fishing and a few of the pegs are a bit "tree`ed in" for getting a cast with longer rods, also i think i will be doing a lot of margin fishing, so might sell the Diawa 12 foots and get 9 or 10ft rods
When I start back, I will be more margin/close in fishing, using 6ft Rods will also get me into some small areas, think I'm gonna wait until new year now get out, get a club day ticket membership (£40) for local club waters for 12months.

Looked at these a few times, people slate Westlake & NGT but I personally thinknits how you take care of them.
Before I sold all my Gear, I had the Top Names - Shimano, Daiwa, Sonik, Korda....etc etc.
But lately I've started regrouping all my Gear and is Mainly NGT.
NGT - 2x 6ft Profiler Rods, 2x Profiler Reels, 2Rod Holdall, Backpack, Banksticks, landing net...shelter is Angling Intelligence, Chair n Matt are Sonik.
Only have 1 Alarm at moment, but now I'm now shopping for Alarms n Reciever a 2 Rod Pod & some Line.

Okay guys my 18 year old reels are looking tatty, maybe even rough in places, they still work like clockwork just some area`s of corrosion/paint loss, so im thinking a pair of new reels, i have mentioned to my daughter i may get her to pay for one as an xmas present and i buy the second.
I am only fishing one club book venue which is a 3.5 acre lake, fish to low 30`s, a bit weedy some snags, rods are Diawa 12ft 3lb tc..........so can i have some suggestions please and low price is key here thinking £40-55 per reel i like Freespool but also happy to look at mini pit reels with fast drag, i have sort of looked at Wychwood reels but i did have a set of the early rogue reels and they were not great
Thanks in advance guys

I think i might have a play with this rig, i really like the idea of it and being able to just pop a new fresh hook on an existing rig appeals
Same with a spinner/ronnie, use a line aligner or a kicker, just slip nit back take off old hook, replace with new hook 👍👍

Hi guys
I am planning to do some longer distance lead chucking this winter and was thinking I might want to use a leader? I'm ordering some 17lb katran line 0.33mm and was thinking of using either a tapered mono leader or shock leader to make it easier and less crackoffy. Which one would you go for?
What I had on before I sold em (Crypton) was actually quite thick for 0.33 I thought but did cast quote well.
