  1. Iโ€™ve used brewers yeast in my base mix for yrs and found that just as the baits start to go whitish theyโ€™re at their best I think this is because the enzymes are active once out on the lakebed the naturals then attack the baits which in turn make the carp want to eat them. Iโ€™m far from an expert or scientist this is just what Iโ€™ve noticed
  2. Good old luncheon meat an the grill old school baits lol
  3. Has anyone used cous cous as a ground bait or bag mix
  4. Simon the weed is all different types from Canadian to this stuff that looks like the kelp you get at sea as well as large rocks boulders etc used to keep the liner down its brutal in places not to bad in others but in the same breath to get in the not so bad swims is hard work cause they're usually taken on a one in one out basis.
  5. Yes drop off inline I'll have to put one togeather an show you guys
  6. No yonny the hooklink is held in place by the leader coming over the outside of the lead the lead is drop off set up
  7. I use the fox inline pear and chop the incert just behind the thick bit place the swivel which I find a better fit than korda leads into the thick cut piece run the leader or line over the top in the groove rubber sleeve on the end good to go drop the lead on a take but take a very substantial cast etc

  13. I've been losing carp to weed etc which isn't good I'm changing to 30lb braid I've been using inline pear leads rig as normal out the front losing on a take but still able to retrieve if no run now what I've been thing about I've not put one out yet thought I'd see what you guys thought first 3 1/2 distance lead with the hooklink off the leader on the lead I'm using a 40lb boom with inch of supple braid at hook end because the hooklink is fixed off the side of the lead till a shake or movement the lead will drop and theres no beads etc the hooklink will come off the leader can you see any problem

  18. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€I know of some lakes that happen to have crayfish in do you cook em first or kill an scoop out the meat ???
  19. I do enjoy a discussion on bait I know I dont use manmade smells or flavours but I do use natural ingredients like prawn tuna garlic turmeric paprika etc any of you guys used naturals like this is your bait your bound to have what's your views etc I do understand and know that they may not stay fresh as long once defrosted etc
  20. Hi gaffa I understand exactly what your saying I make my own baits just to be different the size and shape is just to overcome the tench and bream so the carp can find them at least. I'm fishing a large park lake with it's own weather system lol (Seriously dont listen to the weatherman) it gets filled in with particles and alot of the guys are using the same bait company and having their baits rolled for them, I dont use no flavours etc I give mine a really good air dry so they're like rocks then rehydrate with a little lake water and special k from baf I know the carp are eating them I'm ashamed to say I'm yet to land one, the weed is at least 10 -11 feet In the spots I've found that no one seems to be fishing its mostly deeper and bait boats I've been using a fishspy to find feed and check spots which are looking like a polished table if I'm honest fingers crossed I'm off tomorrow new reel loaded with new braid for the one rod the other my usual gr line both drop off system.
  21. Lol I've not got a set up like that lol just a hand table lol but the base mix is my own lol I've been doing it for yrs I started using fusion yrs ago then found I could get my own ingredients and haven't looked back ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€
