  1. Hi guys well I was using 18mm but still catching bream so make my own 28mm+up to a 30mm I’ve lost 2 fish I’ve hooked to weed or rocks but no more bream this bream is on a 18mm
  2. Thanks for the input Elmo I’ll keep you up to date on how things progress
  3. I’ve even thought of the method feeder but have stayed away because of the bream
  4. I’ve been told all sorts but don’t listen to anyone I always go my own road I’m just trying to be different to everyone and the usual methods that’s why I was thinking of spoon leads as I can’t see them burying because of the shape
  5. Good suggestions Elmo and something I have thought about
  6. I wasn’t being funny Elmo it is a good suggestion it’s just me I try not to follow everyone else and the chod rig is used to death up this place because of the weed I’m just trying to be different to everyone else elmo
  7. Your going to laugh at me now lol I don’t use a helicopter set up or chose rig as every man and his dog is using them I try to not be a sheep lol ive been thinking of the old spoon leads if they’re still available
  8. I’m exactly the same as you yonny that’s why I’m fishing this place I love a challenge I’m up there tomorrow for the day see if I can put another piece of the puzzle in place I’ve been privalaged to see a few pics of some of the fish and there are some crackers in there I’ve also been talking to a few and one fella has been fishing this place 5yrs regular and has his first carp a few weeks ago
  9. That’s just it it’s not invisible it’s a crater so blatant and visible it’s unreal and these fish ain’t stupid this place as I’ve said is not like any water I’ve fished before the carp rule book don’t exist on this place lol what you think they’re supposed to do -do the opposite lol and your not far wrong lol
  10. This place I’m fishing is like no other water I’ve fished. Usual carp behaviour is out the window on this place you may glimps a fin or a bubbler if your looking they don’t really follow the wind and if they do they don’t stay on it,there are fish here that have never come out since they were stocked it’s like a whole new learning curve lol that’s without nothing coming out an it still being filled in with bait boats
  11. I have been fishing in the silt I have been wondering if it’s that obvious to me where the lead is how obvious is it to the carp
  12. Haha it’s definitely changed lol. Some aspects good others not so 😔what do you need help with myself and the guys here will help all we can I’m sure
  13. The lake I’m fishing has this light silt like sandy clay soft mud what I’ve noticed with the fishspy is it’s that soft that even a 1 1/2 oz lead buries and if you pull back slightly it furrows like a ploughed field the hard spots are rocks of varing sizes would the old spoon leads be of use I’m wondering does anyone know if they’re still available besides making them myself
  14. The world does seem to have gone crazy lol I’m an old school angler but must confess to owning and using a fishspy but not for fish locations I’ve been using mine to look at the bottom an to check my rig when cast close enough lol the lake I’m fishing is extremely weedy and has a lot of boulders on the bottom
  15. I won’t use senses I won’t use senses any more that pic is diabolical
  16. Absolutely diabolical wtf are all those carp on the floor SHAMEFUL
  17. Sorry lol my name is Darren I’m from Wales good guys on here with a wealth of carp knowledge
  18. Well tbh everyone I’ve been to a few different waters and only managed a bream or catfish now 3of the waters are hard due to the height above sea level that I’m at but one of the other waters that I went to in 4 days one carp was caught and that was only 16lb with is small for the head of sized fish that’s in this place yet I hookpulled on a sturgeon and plenty of cats were caught. i know a lot of things come into play in fishing but this is all over the country
  19. Listen guys there’s some fruit cakes around so be careful guys. I’ve been to some naughty places with not nice people around take care of yourselves
  20. Nice to see that someone else uses a centrerpin. I love using mine
  21. I’ve used brewers yeast in my base mix for yrs and found that just as the baits start to go whitish they’re at their best I think this is because the enzymes are active once out on the lakebed the naturals then attack the baits which in turn make the carp want to eat them. I’m far from an expert or scientist this is just what I’ve noticed
  22. Nice to catch a total original good angling mucka hope your luck continues
  23. Nice fish yonny especially the old one from the 70s. Good angling mucka
