  1. I have been fishing in the silt I have been wondering if it’s that obvious to me where the lead is how obvious is it to the carp
  2. The lake I’m fishing has this light silt like sandy clay soft mud what I’ve noticed with the fishspy is it’s that soft that even a 1 1/2 oz lead buries and if you pull back slightly it furrows like a ploughed field the hard spots are rocks of varing sizes would the old spoon leads be of use I’m wondering does anyone know if they’re still available besides making them myself
  3. The world does seem to have gone crazy lol I’m an old school angler but must confess to owning and using a fishspy but not for fish locations I’ve been using mine to look at the bottom an to check my rig when cast close enough lol the lake I’m fishing is extremely weedy and has a lot of boulders on the bottom
  4. I won’t use senses I won’t use senses any more that pic is diabolical
  5. Absolutely diabolical wtf are all those carp on the floor SHAMEFUL
  6. Well tbh everyone I’ve been to a few different waters and only managed a bream or catfish now 3of the waters are hard due to the height above sea level that I’m at but one of the other waters that I went to in 4 days one carp was caught and that was only 16lb with is small for the head of sized fish that’s in this place yet I hookpulled on a sturgeon and plenty of cats were caught. i know a lot of things come into play in fishing but this is all over the country
  7. Listen guys there’s some fruit cakes around so be careful guys. I’ve been to some naughty places with not nice people around take care of yourselves
  8. I’ve used brewers yeast in my base mix for yrs and found that just as the baits start to go whitish they’re at their best I think this is because the enzymes are active once out on the lakebed the naturals then attack the baits which in turn make the carp want to eat them. I’m far from an expert or scientist this is just what I’ve noticed
  9. Good old luncheon meat an the grill old school baits lol
  10. Has anyone used cous cous as a ground bait or bag mix
  11. Simon the weed is all different types from Canadian to this stuff that looks like the kelp you get at sea as well as large rocks boulders etc used to keep the liner down its brutal in places not to bad in others but in the same breath to get in the not so bad swims is hard work cause they're usually taken on a one in one out basis.
  12. Yes drop off inline I'll have to put one togeather an show you guys
  13. No yonny the hooklink is held in place by the leader coming over the outside of the lead the lead is drop off set up
  14. I use the fox inline pear and chop the incert just behind the thick bit place the swivel which I find a better fit than korda leads into the thick cut piece run the leader or line over the top in the groove rubber sleeve on the end good to go drop the lead on a take but take a very substantial cast etc

  19. I've been losing carp to weed etc which isn't good I'm changing to 30lb braid I've been using inline pear leads rig as normal out the front losing on a take but still able to retrieve if no run now what I've been thing about I've not put one out yet thought I'd see what you guys thought first 3 1/2 distance lead with the hooklink off the leader on the lead I'm using a 40lb boom with inch of supple braid at hook end because the hooklink is fixed off the side of the lead till a shake or movement the lead will drop and theres no beads etc the hooklink will come off the leader can you see any problem
  20. Its probably be the last rods I buy as I use things to death if I like it lol
