Just had look in the freezer for any bait for a upcoming trip on Monday lots of odds and sods in there.. Sweetcorn, a pint of maggots, 2 ish pints of hemp and the same of ground bait with small bag of 2mil pellets. I’ll pop in the local tackle shop Saturday with the just the right amount of money for 3 pints of mags…so I don’t get tempted 😏

I was telling a Customer who is a nurse about my DIY surgery I performed on my finger to remove a hook, Straight away she said when was the last time I had a booster tetanus jab. I replied 50 odd years ago. She was not amused, and suggested I get one straight away.

You get to keep one rod from your vast array of rods, what is it and why did you pick it Greys Prodigy twin tip 12ft rod it’s got a 1.5lb and a 2lb top section with a cork handle I always use the 1.5lb top as it’s well balanced the other tip is to top heavy I find Iv used it for Barbel, Bream and for floater work for Carp, spinning for Pike and Mackerel… it covers a lot of uses and does it well

This small lake is the opposite Iv fished it before and it’s hard with the extra water… just got off the phone with the owner and it’s been high all week so hopefully the fish could have got used to it and settled down. 🤞

Sooo much rain around my way this week was going to have a sneaky couple of hours tomorrow but I’m thinking the water level will be way up 😞

I do that on a on a regular basis 🤔 me and a mate are booked on B1 on the 21st of November for 48hrs il be trying out my new heated sleeping bag…could be sleeping for the the full 48

A day ticket water I fish responds to maggots in the colder months but they don’t allow you to spod them and theirs a limit of 3 pints. I use a rig similar to solars pva rig but remove the quick change hook length then cast out several bags, hook back on and away you go.

Lick and stick for me and not to much pressure when I fold the nugget. Iv cast out at distance to showing fish and had a take within minutes on several times as has my mates, also done the rig in a tall jar with ice cubes and the pva has came away from around the hook. Imagine the force of a 3 1/2 ounce lead smacking into the water that would also help in removing the PVA. I would have to hire out the Hubble telescope to see the form nugget hit the service 😂 When the chod rig ( don’t hear much of that rig now ) came out I thought il give that a go didn’t use a nugget around the hook and had the occasional fish on it, then il reeled in one time and the hook had pierced the lead core so a nugget was used after that.

Tesco plastic bag but other supermarket bags are available. Lol I eat from the frying pan so no need for a plate, Weetabix in Tupperware take 4 eat 2 then a swill with water to clean pop the other 2 back in the Tupperware for the nx morning. I recently bought a small cool bag from thinking anglers for milk and for any meats I take. Small gas canister and tiny stove fork knife and teaspoon in a side pocket mug in the other with coffee and tea. All this and more in a rucksack… which sadly has seen better days. Il take a look at the Saber rucksack. 👍

I can’t remember the last time I cast without some form of pva around the hook..if I’m casting to infinity and beyond I just use a pva nugget around the hook helps with tangles. I use bags because I like you using liquids in a bag and helps if I’m not sure of the bottom, pva web for pellets chops etc and maggots in the winter esp web iv found the best it’s got a tighter weave helps against the mags escaping. If it’s raining I use a oil spray pump you get for frying in the kitchen couple of squirts around the pva helps keeping the moisture away If it’s very cold I leave the oils out as it slows down the pva melting

Vanglers . 😂 … I do about 2 socials a year and we are a pretty quiet bunch have a good laugh no more that 5 of us, Have a meal together at a set time they favour a few ciders I’m happiest swallowing a large dead man’s finger….but always itching to get back to the fishing.
