I had the same thought on the weekend, been sea fishing lately 4-5 hr trips with no cover been looking at mountain warehouse clothing with uv protection very reasonable prices

I can remember fishing a local foreshore comp with the mrs the practice was to dig bait then fish, must have been 20 fishing in a line all men apart from the mrs. She used a multiplier cause she refused to use a whisk as she called the fix spool she couldn’t cast more than 50 yds us men were casting way past her and not catching but she was catching from the off with eels and flounder, I then realised she was casting over where we had dug worm you would always damaged worms on the fork and that was why the fish were there and maybe with the holes in the mud from digging I dropped short and started catching. Iv often wondered about pre baiting 🤔 Iv done it for mullet with bread on the rocks and it works.

I had a chat to a couple of sea anglers on my last trip they said they were happy with it saying it was solid having dropped it twice down rocks. The thing with using it for sea fishing you’re opening it up 3=4 times a hour baiting up but they said the bait still stays chilled The one guy said his mate just filled it up with cans of larger and he was always happy with it till the last can went 😁 The last trip I had a gull take a packet of squid and Iv had rats taking bait so it’ll help with the thieving Not sure it will be Jack Russell proof as my old Trakker found out

Fished late afternoon for 4hrs, had so many dogfish stoped counting after 10 no over species could get a look in 🙄

Sorry to hear it hasn’t arrived yet If the box had a carpy name it would cost a £10 er more in the shop 🙄 talking of costing more, Nx to the carp gear is the sea gear in my local and I was comparing prices of size 8 swivels and packets of beads and as you guessed the sea prices was half of the price of the carp gear and you got more, that carp tax is shameful 😡

Had to get a cool box for sea fishing £25 could use it for carping 🤔…just don’t tell Kev 🫢

Bits and bobs

I had 90% of my carp on the syndicate in the summer all on adjustable zigs using 12lb hook lengths and 10ft 3.5 rods , got to use tbe drag sensibly and with soft hands. But as Iv said elsewhere in hindsight they were to stiff and il be in the market for something slightly lighter

I hope you’ll be happy with your choice 👍 I do like 10ft length rods Iv got a set of ESP Quick draw rods in 3.5 lb which in hindsight were to powerful in 10ft as someone on here rightly mentioned could have been Kev ? The 3lb would have been perfect. 😏 Now ESP are bringing out a 4k version all in 10ft so il be selling off the other rods and getting a set in 3lb ….after a good waggle in the shop

I had a Shimano DL 6000 giving to me that was 6 months old used it twice then gave it away I was shocked at the build quality just felt so cheap… A year later my mate said I got a reel you can have it was only the same reel 😳 had been around the house is a bit Got one Elmo, nice reel around £60 here’s a comparison

That’s a bit of bad luck Easy fix if they don’t, grip the broken piece with grips heat below the eye then slide the eye away. Try it for size if it fits bit of super glue job done if it don’t a light sanding to it till it fits then glue. Iv done the same fix to a quiver tip and a sea rod 👍

Might be on an earner…You should try eating it could be truffles 😂
