Happy birthday week ouch that’s a great present 👍 Talking of presents, On my 40th birthday I opened my card from the Mrs and two air tickets for Amsterdam dropped out 😳 now me and a mate have always made it known for years we wanted to go and I couldn’t wait to tell him we were finally going thanks to my lovely other half. …but ( why is there always a but ) but over a birthday lunch as I was staring into space, daydreaming what me and my mate were gonna to get up to I came crashing down to earth when I realised what the good lady had been saying for the last 5 minutes that she will have to get her hair done and would defo have buy a new outfit for the trip 😏 To be fair we had a great time and me and my mate managed to go for my 50th

Two things spring to mind when I gaze at the lovely pics…one if I had a bite il be out of breath by the time I managed to get to the rods and two that is a proper bait boat ! 😉

I use a 12ft 3.25 rod for my marker and it doubles as my spod rod on large waters, It’s a old rod with a tippy action you could say it’s a freak of a rod light in hand and wafer thin and can handle medium spods easily iv used it at 24 wraps using braid on the reel. On your water the rods you got would handle a medium spod easily 👍as long as your line is not to thin in diameter The water I’m on at the mo I use 10ft 3.50 rods 35mm mono line on the reels and I can tell when I’m on silt or hard clay but using braided line is better. I also spod with my rods Good luck catching your 20lb plus Carp 🤞…let us know how you get on 👍

Welcome, I just pierced the plastic corn with a baiting needle a couple of times placing the corn in a shallow bait tub with your liquid flavours using just enough liquid to cover then press down hard a couple of times on the corn with something blunt. It seem to suck the liquid in. Got around a dozen in the pot on the go. 👍

Anyone got any experience of the above, a friend has got a £50 budget. I haven’t got a clue so thought il ask here.

I know what you mean …but Im on the 40mm side of the fence lol… got a set of 3lb with 40mm also……looking over my shoulder and it’s all clear… got a set of 3.50lb with the big 50mm ring which after a couple of years I still don’t see the reason for the size.

For smaller waters I use a cut down match rod that I snapped a foot off the end 😞 great rod for carp low doubles even use a spinner rod, On the over end of the scale Iv used a big Nash controller had to be over 3oz could have been 4 oz ? with a 3lb carp rod on linnar man that float could fly 😳 …sadly I remember my mate playing a good fish on Oxlease in the bay at the back of the island using a floater rod it was bent double folded right over just couldn’t do anything with it and snapped him… he actually threw the rod into into the air landing it in a blackberry bush.. I got ripped to pieces trying to get it out 🙄…happy days 😄
