Tree123 reacted to yonny in Bait "sprays".......your thoughts???
Imho..... snake oil Rob, all day.
I don't think it'll be on the bait as it hits the deck, let alone after 5 mins. I'll only use liquids if I can leave to soak for a period. A brief coating just comes off instantly on the way down. The sprays have zero viscosity so they're even worse.
On top of that.... flavour does not give off a food signal so it cannot boost a bait. It is purely for palatability.
That's my belief anyway.

Tree123 got a reaction from elmoputney in Ready made tigers yes or no?
I used bag them up in to 100g or 200g bags and then id still bring 90% of them home as you need very few tigers as we all know

That what used to do with tigers. 10kg of cooked tiger should last you a very very long time. I used to soak mine in betalin.

Cheers all I went and had a look at monster particles as they have a 50%off sale this weekend, use code bank 50 although it didn't work for tigers
However
If you look in the clearance section you can get 10kg delivered for £25, I thought that will do, will just freeze them in smaller bags and take one out at a time

There used to be one called Meatimix... very heavy... if you want to make the balls get to the bottom without breaking up get yourself a bag of PV1 Collant Binder... a cup of binder to a bag of groundbait will get it down to swims about 6 feet without breaking up... another way is to "Skin up" your groundbait balls by forming them with dry hands first and then wetting your hands and squeezing the balls again to put a slick skin on your groundbait...

I'd say live bait too but most places ban it and a lot of anglers don't like doing it so I don't really mention it.
Plus when using prawns I've had carp to 20 plus and some nice tench so it makes it great fun on the float rod.

Tree123 got a reaction from yonny in Show us you Bivvy
I used to use a lo pro after yonnys advise. I was a big fan of it. I had an ss3 in it woth eso rucksack and coolbag. It was tight but it all fitted and the coverage was decent I struggled with height of it but im 6-4 but once i starting taking the dog. It was way too tight. So i swapped to a recon which was ok but no where near the coverage of the lo pro
Now i dont have dog i would buy the low pro again but match it up with a compact bedchair and smaller ta style rucksack.

Been looking into it. The seat is extra cost to bucket. So its like £50 for the bucket and seat which is a lot of money for what it is

Tree123 got a reaction from crusian in Lo pro vs tempest brolly
I sold most of it. I've just kept the basics stuff. Well see what happens. But so far no regards I'd say it been a good 6 months since I've done a night or anything really fishing related. But I've refound my love for love distance running. And I'm still climbing loads so I'm outside enjoying whats out here.

No worries it weird still like seeing nice fish out and being by the water just lost the love for the actual fishing.

Keeping it varied makes a lot of sense, I definitely over saturated myself with carp fishing, the break did me good for sure and I've started rock climbing now aswell so between the two I and go what I love which is be outdoors and kept it varied
