I use propolis occasionally. Bit like Kev though, just let them heal themselves unless it’s really bad. I also have some korda stuff (very old though) in the side pocket of the mat.
as said. Best course of action if you want to/have to use something is any of the anti septic stuff followed by propolis on the body. But tbh there’s every realistic chance that the fishes goes and rubs the propolis off once released anyway! Or thrashes on the mat or sling and knocks it off beforehand.
if a fish is obvs suffering from some infection from a wound it’s best to give it a salt bath and quarantine it, any treatment an angler puts on won’t be of much use!
I used braid on both marker and spod rod when carping and I use braid now for sea fishing. I only ever used whiplash whilst carping and did get occasional wind knots. Sea fishing I use a cheap braid off Ebay and never had a wind knot with it (spectra braid). Not as thin as whiplash mind but that's possibly the reason for no wind knots. I no doubt lose a bit of distance but I'd swap that for no wind knots and obviously I always wet the spool before any casting.
I’ve only used whiplash in the green .14 which I think is around 40lb that’s in 8 strand it fades in colour over the years but that doesn’t hurt the line. I used whiplash before it went over to 8 strand and that’s was just as good.
j don’t bother to splash the reel will lake water I feel that only wets the surface coils of braid instead I under hand cast then a couple of casts further winding the tip under the water, I also put the tip under the water as I wind the spod in every time I cast
Good luck with your choice 👍
I've got the kits because I have to with the club rules, do I use it NO, I might treat a bad hook hold coz I know the damage is fresh but as for treating existing wounds I don't really believe in it TBH you could easily be making it worse, trapping harmful bacteria in - we're not vets IMO
Tin hat on - bring it 😂
This should have been shot at Oxlease disabled swim but in fact is taking at lake 5 peg 3 which thankfully is a disabled swim on the Tar farm complex… we’re not happy bunny’s tho
