  1. Really tricky for me to answer as I chop and change when I feel certain baits are more/less effective at different times of year. I rarely use 4 ingredients in a mix tbh. In Spring I'd normally be using a pot of black foam or pop ups. Maybe a kilo of of boilies just in case. Post spawning I'd be boilie fishing. Soon as the weed starts dying I'd be playing with naturals. All water dependant of course.... I'll be on the tigers if bird life or nuisance species are an issue. I can't remember the last time I took 4 ingredients tbh.

    January catch report

Here's my first fish of the year. Was -4 to start the session. Had a run, lifted into it but nothing on the end( thinking small fish with just bait in its mouth ). Then for the next few hours I could see my line pulling tight n slackening back off but not actually taking. Turns out pva wasn't melting (my mix of condensed milk and manilla being over cooked n like caramel stopping the PVA dissolving)(first time trying condensed milk). About 4pm I seen a fish show to the right of me, nowhere near where I was fishing so I quickly boshed a chod together and within 30mins, boom, fish on. Managed to land a 17.32 mirror saving me a blank. Not massive but always nice to get a winter carp

  4. I honestly don't think that the container would fit in my fishing simply because of my fishing at the moment. A bucket of particles or particle/pellet mix, another bucket of boilies, then the bag mix bucket which covers multiple sessions. I frequently take a sack of pellets and Vitalin/Vitacarp and keep it in the car to top up every day. I also usually have a few tins of sweetcorn in there as well. It might work if I did single overnight trips, in fact it might be an idea for my occasional chub/barbel trips to make bait carrying easier as I frequently end up with multiple ice cream containers containing luncheon meat, hemp, pellets and boilies. I suppose you could use the bucket and innards for the daily bait up?

    Poingdestres

So this morning, I went down to christen my new Fox Horizon X3s rods at the local pond, first cast with the new toy and… not what you want with a new rod!! quick call to Poingdestres to explain the situation, and after taking my name and order details, tell me they will call me back as soon as possible. 10mins later and true to their word, they call me to let me know that having found my order number and details, a new tip section is already being packed and posted and should be with me mid week. for after sales service, I can’t fault them, excellent service! as for the rods, I own 10 fox rods (well 9 and a 1/2 right now!) 3 fox warriors, 4 fox torque and these 3(ish) horizons, so I reckon I was just unlucky with a dodgy blank this time round

  6. I can see me using one of these for boilies in the 3 forms: whole, chop and crumb. Maybe another for pellets in different sizes. Particle is usually mixed, yet I'll maybe keep the tigers separate. Hookbaits, I've got a 6 tub container in my rucksack for match the hatch and a ridgemonkey bucket for alternative hookbaits and liquids so that always comes along.
