  1. It's a nightmare as I tend to have to book my time off to fish in advance. The obvious thing I look for when planning a trip is a big low front moving in but I've done miles better when those conditions haven't showed up πŸ˜… Well done on your latest capture btw πŸ‘Œ

  2. Think you might be on to something Yonny. In the last couple of years on 3 different waters I’ve had most of my better results in β€˜poor’ conditions; high pressure, warm often sunny days. I’m not one for keeping extensive records but I also know that the moon phases have been β€˜bad’ too🧐

  3. I caught well in December in low pressure conditions, but that's winter. Thinking about this summer I think I've had the best results on normal days such as 13 takes in an overnighter, but the times I've gone because the conditions were bang on i.e. low pressure systems - I've blanked whilst thinking this is gonna be the one. I don't keep a diary but think you could be onto something here - I mean I should always catch lol

    Short session food?

Give it a lot more years and you'll be having grilled chicken and steamed veg on the bank, how I miss the extra fat on a bacon roll days πŸ€£πŸ‘

    Short session food?

I cook the bacon then pour the fat onto the roll in place of butter. One less thing to take πŸ˜†

  8. Oh no I am trying to get a Sunday night out this weekend and it's a full moon 😬 I always think full moon yay, but can't really remember if it's any better than other times really, I guess like most things if I've done the other bits ok I may have a chance πŸ˜‚

  9. Yeah it is - the obvious change is overall temp warming (global), not that it feels like it this year. The busy day tickets see more pressure when conditions are low pressure, last trip I had boilies washing into my bank so too much is going in big time, could the general warming effect the water quality with so much un-eaten bait (pollution) in the lake? Saying that what you said about the fish showing less in favorable conditions is true to my recent experiences, does low pressure affect oxygen levels?

    Short session food?

Cook the bacon in the toastie maker first then cheese and put cooked bacon in the sandwich and toast, it's a bit special πŸ˜‚

    Drop shot

How refreshing is it that this is all I need for a bit of drop shot fishing down the canal, got all spares in a little shoulder bag, mat and net clipped on - feels like freedom. Considering I fill my estate car completely for an overnighter carp fishing. Great because I can go for an hour any day after work - who knew tiny perch could get you so excited lol

    Float rig for big carp?

Why do you need an ounce of lead for a float that’s just legering with a float. my go to has always been a peacock quill or waggler fitted bottom end only with a piece of putty near the hook and fished lift method 8lb line straight through to a size 6 hook and always fished as close in to the margin as I can and usually right in the reeds
