Does anyone else fish it? How big is it?
If not keep it simple keep the bait going in and make the spots yourself, they will come if you bait it often enough, then just cast bags into the area when you are fishing it will soon firm up a bit
Are using using your line clip when you cast? It does make being accurate a lot easier
Go up the field with an empty bucket and practice it will soon come
in awnser to your question I’d use a reverse combi which I’ve used with a small pva bag 3-4 freebies and rest dog biscuits so it keeps the rig off the bottom it can settle natural as long as you find a clear spot
Has your hookbait been coming back stinking of rotting silt?
If you are leading about try and find silt that doesn't stink, takes some practice at first but once you have done it a bit you can soon spot the difference, imo ignore the spot if it stinks 👍
Well the results are in from week one weigh in, 😬😬😬😬😜😜😜😜
-5lb down to 21st 9lb 😁😁😁😁
I'll take that for week 1, still a long weigh 😳 to go but a solid start
Cheers all 👍
9 pike today, 2 at 13lb, a 12, an 11, and the rest singles. One I estimated at 8 I decided to weigh, was actually 9lb. One feisty little jack caught me on the finger so didn't have his picture taken.
Not the most comfortable swim, had to sit in chest waders all day
It works if you pee on a jellyfish sting 😁 probably though it's ammonia innit, will probably do it by accident anyway the aim isn't what it used to be 😁😁😁
Easier said than done! Lol! After bite is good, I tend to use piriton (chloremphenamine) if the topical stuff doesn’t calm it, it’s an antihistamine that can make you drowsy though at times.
My own personal findings are every lake is different I’m on the bank of a lake most days the local match lake they move all yr the parc lake will be about now to coincide with spring the buds are starting on the trees the days are lengthening the birds are starting to sing find an prepare a few spots you can keep an eye on mr an mrs carp will soon let you know butty
Well one of my local lakes has done 4x20's already.... I had one in January so you can catch them all year round, but as for targeting them, I'd start on mild, low pressure days preferably with a south-westerly wind about now...
