A few pike including a new PB over 20lb

Back on the pike trail, 4 today including a double take, biggest went 10lb I had 7 takes, 4 on ledgered mackeral head, 3 on smelt and landed 2 on each, but lost 3 fish as hooks pulled. I can only assume small fish that didn't take the bait deeply. All were lightly hooked

I use the matrix stainless ones with the holes in them i find them great it windy weather as they eliminate seesawing but are not overly heavy to stop a bite showing1 point

But Soooo incredibly frustrating when you see the line of bubbles head to your spot and then pass your spot without stopping, which has happened to me 🙄 I’ve had a carp go berserk when I underarmed a rig to a showing fish just past where I seen it show and promptly hit it 😞1 point

Why not just use a pellet or groundbait that would still carry the liquid? A normal bag in the right place will still catch fish, I caught this one within 5 minutes of casting a fresh bag into the spot If you need to use sand why not mix some pellets in to help break it down? In my opinion though just keep it simple it still works 👍
