    Thought of the Day pt.2

We used to have 2 firework party’s one for the little kids and one for the big kids. On our big kids party you had to bring a firework bigger the better. We always had a good drink. Anyway I got hold of a huge rocket and was in the running for the best firework till my mate sheepish said can I borrow a shovel and disappeared to the top of the garden giggling. At 12 O’clock he got us all up and we staggered out to the garden best stand back he says giggling again....Well it was must have been like the blitz all hell broke loose everyone was all running around like headless chicken trying to fine cover and not drop there drinks one of the boys done a spectacular leap and tried to clear a 6 foot fence missed his footing went smack into it I can remember the mrs trying frantically to get into the shed that was locked seemed like time stood still. O happy days πŸ˜‚ The following day I went to the top of the garden for a tidy up and found my mates firework double the size of a biscuit tin it was. I read the instructions and in big Capital letters read display model stand back 50 metres πŸ™„

    Thought of the Day pt.2

Had a little firework display In the garden tonight, I thought the kids have missed enough this year, was strange being a responsible adult in charge of fireworks, but the kids loved it, We have a little path to the woods behind our house just after I let the first rocket off, I heard a JEEESUUUUS CHRIST πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ I didn't think anyone was there must have scared the stinky winky out of the poor guy 😳

  4. We used to have massive bonfire parties when we were younger my mate had a big garden we used to collect stuff to burn for weeks, they were brilliant fun loads of booze loads of fireworks, loads of fun, and that's why I still don't think I should be allowed to be a responsible adult with fireworks 😁

    How deep???

I would do a lot of marker work find different depth if possible if not it would have to be an adjustable zig that would be my starting point I fished an old brickyard a few times and that was 50ft deep but we caught them on adjustable zigs at 38-39ft

    How deep???

I don't have a definitive answer regarding the depth but I think Rob Hughes said that below 30 foot it gets so cold he has to come up pretty quick. Carp will seek out the warmest part of the lake as it is the most comfortable. I would be looking more at the inlet end of a reservoir.

  7. I honestly can't remember the last time I used any other line than Gardner Pro in light or dark, it must be since Gardner released it! Richard Gardner sent me a spool for an honest appraisal so I attempted to test it to destruction. The line held up better than I did. My casting at Nazeing could be anything up to 150metres, 15lb Pro does it, with or without shock leaders, and a 3.5oz lead on a 3.25lb tc rod. The line diameter is consistent, 0.35 for the 15lb. The only thing is that the breaking strain exceeds the stated strain, I seem to recall it was 18lb in tests with a balance and scales, using a Uni or Blood knot. Bracken is a weedy water, or in 1 swim I fished, the line dealt with that while playing fish through it, and I never had it give up around the snags.
