I am happy in my work, home life, and especially in my carp fishing. I am brand new to the sport and I think I am experiencing some much appreciated beginner's luck. I caught my first fish today in less than an hour and I had alot of fun in the process. It was only my second outing and I feel an obsession for this sport starting to take hold.hold. Or I use a cable tie to stop the wires tripping out. They do the job perfectly, and without added carp tax.

I've simply screwed some screws into a 4oz lead before. That worked just fine as well. 50lb braid straight through and you're in business

I use to trim down the wires so they wouldn’t bend as much.

I only use a mahin knot on braid to mono its basically an albright with an over hand loop In the end of the mono

Grip leads sea anglers use them £1 ish each wrap elastic bands around the wires or use tape.

I'm not disagreeing with that either, I'm certainly not naive enough too think we aren't being lied to constantly by media and goverments etc, I just worry that anger and a lack of middle ground is a bad thing for everyone, it's also probably easier than ever to make up big lies and remain hidden with social media all you need to do is feed the extremes and watch it soak into the mainstream,

Imo its a combination of this, and the fact that so many guys are furloughed and can spend all week on the bank. I'm happy, but I can understand lots of people are struggling. Humans are sociable creatures and when the ability to socialise is taken away by lock-down or distancing it's not good for our heads. Wont lie, it's doing my head in lol. Imo this toxicity is fostered by the powers that be. A conflicted populous is easier to control and lie to, than a united one. It is why I refuse to acknowledge any of it.
