  2. I am in this boat now.. at 60 my body won't let my head do what it wants to do... I'm going to have to start buying ready tied rigs as my eyes won't let me see properly to tie my own... its taken over 2 hours to tie 5 rigs for maggots😭 As you get older comfort is needed and finding that comfort is hard work (and expensive)😭

  3. That's very interesting Blue. , but I thought you suffered with your back and knees ? . I think my knees would protest the next day if I sat on a Lo Chair other than for a short period of time , and the same for sitting on a mat or the grass ; I am better off sitting on my JRC Xlite Chair at 3kg some of us suffer with ailments such has bad joints or back so its not easy to compromise comfort for lighter weights I need a large bedchair which wont fit into smaller shelters so I just try and keep the justins to a minimum

  4. Something for you, a fishing chair supposedly goes flat, which can make it a pain to carry. Mine gets put inside my Chub Beanie unhooking mat, and strapped to my Korum ruckbag when I am pike, roach or chub fishing, which can involve a lot of roving. Getting up can be quite a trial if my body and bones are aching. I actually found for carp fishing a standard folding camping chair easier and more comfortable. One of those can fit in many rod slings or brolly holdalls with the brolly. They are also cheaper coming from camping style shops! https://www.sportsdirect.com/gelert-camping-chair-787052?colcode=78705290&awc=5374_1549561124_439a72f614deb46d8babdb47dd090bf6&utm_source=Affiliatewindow&utm_medium=Affiliates&utm_campaign=RedBrain+Ltd Years ago I had to minimise my gear for fishing on a reservoir with gates and stiles to go through and over, so a trolley was an impossibility. Tackle box, rod holdall with brolly or Roamer Dome/Nash Outlaw Hurricane shelter, bedchair, rucksack with all other gear in. This worked for days, overnighters or longer sessions. All my food, water, stove and bait etc went in the rucksack, with mat strapped to it. The tackle box all the end tackle was in there. Rod holdall had the rods, net and shelter in. My bedchair had the sleeping bag already in.

    Specialized hookbaits

I pierce them buddy. I've been using them for 3 or 4 years and never had an issue. As long as you use a fine baiting needle and take your time you'll be ok. You now have the crushed cork hookbaits available. I actually prefer them because they're as buoyant as a cork ball, they can be trimmed, you don't have to worry about birdlife, there's more basemix to hold the liquid cure..... really good baits.

    Specialized hookbaits

I showed my friend your comment yonny. He's been using them for the last 5 years (kept that quiet or I wasn't listening, probably the latter, 😂) he had problems with the s2 splitting on the hair, hence using the stocking. Do you hair rig or lassoo?? We're there those issues a while ago, he's got a few different baits & glug, etc. from them. Maybe the current recipe is a bit more robust do you think?

No mate that's not necessary at all unless you have birdlife pecking away at them (which will ruin any corkball pop up). As long as they're left alone they'll easily last more than 48 hrs. Spot on, the S1's work on a different concept. You really want that coating active/fizzing up so imo you're better off not wrapping them. They say if you wrap in tights the coating will last for 48 hrs but personally I'd just recast every 12 hours to keep that hookbait as active as possible. For 48 hrs + I'd just use the S2's.

  12. I have a JRC x lite chair and the Avid lo... and oddly enough, the Avid causes me less probs than the X lite, which kills my back... I've mastered "The Roll Out" of the Avid and wobble upright... (eventually) With the ultralite kit... a lot of our banks are stepped, so I can park me 'Arris on a mat and sit quite upright... I can't do it everywhere though... I think either Avid or Sonik do a chair along the same lines as the Avid but taller and more upright.. I may investigate that... Chairs are a bit funny really... What may seem comfy in a quick sit down in the shop could be blooming purgatory for 8 hours on a bankside.

Standard winter mindset innit mate. It's hard work at times. If there is one weekend we need to be fishing this winter, this next one is it. This big south westerly that's just popped up is with us until Sun/Mon and it's bringing with it double figure temps on Fri/Sat. The north east corner of most lakes will already be a degree or two warmer than the rest of the water as it's been off the back of the cold north easterlys. Now you'll have this new wind turning that corner over big time. There'll be a few carp caught across the country this weekend I'm sure. Typical I can't be on the bank.

  15. I just don't like the idea of cracking my head on the internal pitch point on the brolly. It's also 100 quid more than a good quality tarp and 3x2.2m tarp that comes in at 1.1kg. Only need one support and a few pegs. Still doing research if there is anything better but 130 for a brolly when I already have a bivvy seems a bit of a splash of cash to me.
