  1. Past hour
  2. It makes sense to me now you've mentioned it. Thanks
  3. Hi Yonny, Thanks for the positive comments regarding Trent Shrimp. I've decided to go for it. I only hear praise for Trent and they've got those white cork balls back in stock at last Cheers for also sharing your common capture, what a creature!! Luke

  5. I do like my 12 footers, I find the eyes a bit flimsy though. One of my butt rings is quite bent already.
  6. Times like that, I bet you wish you'd kept the boat?
  7. Thinking of going to the BIG ONE at the weekend. Not sure, but thinking about getting 9-10FT Helicals, the 13's are bit too big fo the estate campaign.
  8. I bought a second hand 12ft daiwa super spod rod the other week. I used it for the first time this weekend. Was nice to go back to an anti frap tip again. That was really bugging me on my old chub spod rod. Seems a nice sturdy beast too 17 wraps seemed like a flick. Very happy with that purchase for Β£45.
  9. They don't call me the stringer flinger for nothing πŸ˜‚
  10. Maybe try using a stringer, no problem
  11. I would guess by the ingredients of the SAS it’s initials are for the Squid based fishmeal and the salmon flavour.
  12. This bad boy! Does nearly 60 lb now this one!
  13. Yup! Been using it for 10 years+. I don't use a lot of boiled bait but when I do it's always the Shrimp. I had just dropped a bait deal back in ~2015 and was looking for something new. I'd bought 20kg of Essential B5 and was really struggling. Literally couldn't catch a cold. Given the track-record of the B5 I was reluctant to believe the bait was the problem but a pal of mine put me onto the Shrimp. On my first session with the Shrimp, 4 hours after casting out, I caught the big common I was after. It was like flicking a switch.... just started getting loads of bites. Just yesterday afternoon, with the temps in my koi pond rocketing, I decided to see if the fish would eat boilies. I chopped up a handful of Shrimp and plonked it in each corner of the pond. Given my koi have never seen a boilie I expected they'd take a while clear it up. Wrong. It was gone in about 1 minute! They absolutely love the stuff. I can't help here I'm afraid mate. The Shrimp is that good I'll not try anything else. I have 100% confidence in the stuff.

  15. I like the Korda subline in 20lb, its over 0.4mm in diameter, not busted on me yet.
  16. I can't cast that far πŸ˜‚ probably 60+wraps
  17. Hi Luke Funnily enough my Wife is very reluctant when I suggest she smells my boilies , these ladies just don't know what they're missing ! . I only use the stabilised ,which are marketed as an improvement to shelf life , but my stabilised have lasted considerably longer than they are supposed to . I read an article by Shaun Harrison in which he said he liked to use 2 different flavours and colours concurrently . Whatever you do decide , Luke , tight lines . πŸ˜ƒ
  18. Hello mate, Thanks for the detailed response, The Squid does smell good, funny how it's only us anglers that appreciate the smell, my mrs says it stinks! lol!! I've got some shrimp in shelf life, do you use shelf life exclusively now? I've dabbled with them in the past. lost one on my last outing after baiting with Trent Shrimp shelf life only. Trent said about mixing both but that fried my brain even more, I only like to use one boilie. With a quality name like SAS (who dares wins) makes me think it will be the squid. Lets see, its a biggie for me changing. Thanks again pal. Its much appreciated!

  20. Hello Luke . I started off using Shrimp and Squid in 15mm frozen , but eventually was able to switch to stabilised . I wanted to go down in size to 12mm and there was a minimum order , at the time , of 5kg ,and I couldn't afford to buy both , so I went for the Squidy goodness . I recently bought 1kg of 12mm Shrimp , and ran both the Squid and Shrimp together , but I find I radiate towards the Squid . I'm not saying the Squid is definately better than the Shrimp it's just that I have more confidence in the Squid - I guess I just like the smell ! . πŸ˜ƒ
  21. Best of luck mate…how far across is it to the other anglers swim ?
  22. Great write up and pic πŸ‘
  23. Tight lines , Elmo . Don't fall on your bum like Ouch . 😁
  24. I'm in the mud tonight.
  25. When you realise you don't even need to change your line yet πŸ˜‚
  26. Since before Jesus was resurrected I heard.
  27. Pretty sure Yonny has used the shrimp for as long as I can remember
  28. Think Yonny is a Trent baits user
  29. Hi, Has anyone done well on Trent SAS Squid? I purchased a kilo of each SAS Squid, Shrimp and matching cork ball pop ups. They both look and smell amazing, I'm torn between the 2 and am looking to bulk buy soon. I see online lots of folk rate the shrimp, not much info on the SAS squid. Squid flavoured baits do well on my lake, but shrimp sounds like it can't be ignored. Thanks Luke
