Specialist sharpened Mugga. Lovely hook. Just look past the price tag 😖

Sharpest on the market. Fact.

I've used a few of Jason's, I love the Specialist Sharpened Choddas. They're evil sharp.

Price is evil too but you get what you pay for. Again, these are a one-fish hook but if you're after a special fish these are the ones.

You could hang a 10 0z lead on my builders hands lol

Big fan of the cryogen hooks that Nick mentions & what I currently use. I avoid Korda hooks seen enough mates loose fish with snapped hooks ! A few times it's been at socials & we all look at each other & say " korda strikes again "  happend To Mick at churn one year .

Plasterers hands?

After I went through a stage of losing fish on a particular pattern of Fox hooks that opened out and would spring back in most cases, I started testing hooks. The Korda post comment above was an 'aberration' moment, I forgot Dave had started using them. The hook looked like one of my Muggas, even to the braid hooklink, but Dave had taken one of my rigs (and hooklink making gear) and copied it. Bruce and I could go through our tackle boxes and use any of each others gear with no qualms, the only thing we didn't agree on was mainline choice. Our hooks I have a feeling I was buying from work and then selling to him at my staff price.

As you can see..were the piece of silicone/tubing is on the hook (personaly push it up the shank another 3mm) for the hair is a prime place...BARBLESS onlyfor me...

Sharp also is not the word...all my rigs are now claw hooks are extra packets have been bought..

What s the thinking behind the shape of the claw hook ?  Anti ejection etc ?

I think it's supposed to prevent unwanted movement once the hook is engaged in the flesh Phil. Don't think they claim that it adds to mechanics in anyway. @nigewoodcock would know?

Same principle as the twister really. Imagine 3 turns (angles) trying to pull one out. A curved hook will come out in one single, fluid, movement.

The claw pattern allows you a wider gape than a twister though. So will suit different rigs better. Floater fishing for instance. A shorter shank and wider gape, rather than the longer shank and narrower gape of the twister.

The main thing is, what every hook anyone uses, is to make sure it suits the mechanics of the rig you are tying with it.

My goto pattern since using the Nash hooks, is the chod twister  on my favoured multi rig. It sits absolutely perfect with the semi stiff skinlink hook link.

Tbf Chod Twister on a semi stiff multi rig is all I’ve used for around 3 years, now.
