AAWC Posted Monday at 16:46 Report Posted Monday at 16:46 Hi Folks, New Guy here! I know nothing about bite alarms but I'm thinking of investing... My attention was directed to these via a reccommendation elsewhere on this forum for the Fox Mini Micron (Non X) which has been echoed elsewhere. So my logic is that, as the FMM is a good choice and excellent value, and I'd like the facility of a remote receiver the FMMX's should also be a good choice, even though they are quite a bit more expensive at about €60 each or €150 for the set inc receiver. Does anybody now them really well, faults and all after longterm ownership? What's the word on the Banks? Thanks in advance - David QuoteReply Report Quote
elmoputney Posted Tuesday at 19:33 Report Posted Tuesday at 19:33 Hi mate not used these ones myself but did have a set of the old fox mini microns that worked for years and years. Sorry I can't be more help but I use Gardner atts these days. AAWC and kevtaylor 2 Quote
kevtaylor Posted Thursday at 08:24 Report Posted Thursday at 08:24 Sorry don't know about these specifically but for what it's worth I've got the old Micron M and MX from years back and they all work great. Then bought the dream alarm 'Delkims' and they were unreliable so back to Fox - currently using MX+ - great so far. I wouldn't have any concerns if I were you - you'll not see many bad reviews of Fox alarms as far as I'm aware if any. welder and AAWC 2 Quote

Funny thing is I am the complete opposite of @kevtaylor and have had no problems with Delkims, from pouring rain to hot summer days, with either the ST's I have (promoted to pike fishing), and the TXi'd I use now for carp. When I worked in a tackle shop we had quite a few Fox alarms had to be sent back for replacement in the original Micron range, although the Mini Micron's which had no sounder box at the time were not a problem. Hopefully Fox updates have sorted out the problems, although I always wondered why they needed to 'upgrade' and replace the range every few years. AAWC 1 Quote

yonny Posted Thursday at 15:29 Report Posted Thursday at 15:29 Used Fox alarms for 25 years. Switched to Delkim for a season but that didn't last long as all of them suffered with water ingress issue in the first winter. Back to the Fox's.... still going strong. kevtaylor and AAWC 2 Quote

greekskii Posted yesterday at 05:16 Report Posted yesterday at 05:16 The mk1 delkins are great. The new ones don’t have the water ingress issues being reported, just avoid the version in between. Mini microns are a good choice of alarm, the originals were pretty much indestructible. Quote
Adders27 Posted 13 hours ago Report Posted 13 hours ago I’ve just listed my ATTs for sale on eBay with deluxe receiver as I’ve decided I don’t need a receiver for my day sessions. Ive ordered the Fox Mini Micron with LED changeable colours as a simple yet low cost alarm less than £50 for two ! The ATTs were / are amazing but I can’t justify keeping them now. Quote
