Hello Everyone .

It's time to put new lines on my reels so I thought I would carry on using Hydrotuff , but I have heard RigMarole are bringing out some new products , and I wondered if that included bringing back their SLS Specimen Tough ? .

Also what about the line for my controller , and free line floater fishing ? ; I'm currently using Korda Kruiser Control .

Any thoughts please ? .

If you have no issue with hydrotuff, I would stick with it.

You like the Hydrotuff, stick with it.

Sounds silly, but it can take a while to get used to a different brand or type of line.

Saying that, the Gardner lines, must be the best available.

Floater fishing wise, I go old school, still on Daiwa Sensor with a Berkeley XL, Preston Reflo or Drennan Sub Surface fly hooklink.

I've used the Korda one mentioned and ESP zig and floater, both seem good to me 👍

Had diawa sensor and found it snapped like cotton in a few of the sizes

only line I have ever been able to snap by pulling

never even made it onto the reels

used loads over the years

few of the gardener offerings

the rig marole SLS

esp most of the offerings

Berkeley trilene

ultimate etc.

sylcast

and still have maxima on some sea reels

best was probably gr60

I wish!

Can't see it happening, it didn't sell well, shame as it was absolutely awesome. Hydrotuff still your best bet.

Floater wise, can't help. Do a lot of zigging but seems years since I got a floater rod out.

Thanks very much for all the answers , fellas .

Now I'm wondering as 2024 was a disrupted year for me , and I only went fishing 20 times should I put fresh line on my reels , or am I just being lazy ? .

I guess , at the end of the day it's your line , and hook that land the fish , so I shouldn't try to save time ? .

😃

For years using Sensor I replaced it every 3months or so. It became a habit whether it had been fragged or not. I did have a few fish going through weed, so rather than risk it I changed it.

I switched to Gardner Pro, and went back to every year. Then for some reason  probably environmental and not seeing or feeling any damage while on Alton, made it 3years with the same line.

I'd just remove the last 20 yards or so and crack on.

Only change it if it needs it , or like yonny said just strip a bit off, you can then spend the money you've saved on other goodies 💰😍
