jules007 Posted October 26, 2024 Report Posted October 26, 2024 I am looking at fishing margins so i can drop a rig on a clear spot (weed problems) , i figure its better to place a couple of rigs close in and know they are on clear spots and not tangled. I plan on putting little tiny pva mesh mini nuggets with boilie crumb, and in line lead, but need to decide what rig to use that will do for both pop up and bottom bait? Incidentally i purchased a spool of ESP Tungsten loaded hooklink braid, by eck that stuff is dam near impossible to strip the coating Quote
salokcinnodrog Posted October 26, 2024 Report Posted October 26, 2024 You can get away with a Multi-rig! I've used it for pop-ups, snowman and bottom baits. Longer hair to the rig ring for bottom baits, maybe even snowman, but it works. jules007 and crusian 2 Quote
crusian Posted October 27, 2024 Report Posted October 27, 2024 I was going to suggest a Multi-rig , but couldn't work out how you would attach the hair ; then along comes Nick to answer that question ! 😃. What I would say though is I use a Chod Hook , i.e. an Outurned Eye , for my pop ups ( thanks Kev. ) , but others on here swear by a Curve Shank Hook ( inturned eye ) . I guess you experiment and choose what works for you . 😃 jules007 1 Quote
elmoputney Posted October 27, 2024 Report Posted October 27, 2024 Spinner rig with a D rig kicker for me. Wide gape or long gape for wafters and bottom baits, trig hammer XT or wide gape for pop ups depending on height required, I also switch between ringed spinner swivels and non ringed spinner swivels for height, jules007 1 Quote

elmoputney Posted Friday at 17:43 Report Posted Friday at 17:43 Isn't it best to wet it before you strip it? Quote

Never heard that or had a problem stripping mate, this must have been a one off. A mate of mine bought a duff spool of berkley whiplash which snapped at the clip every time, you'd never believe it - again brilliant stuff 🤷♂️ Quote
