Should fishery owners be responsible for checking licences????
spr1985 replied to smufter's topic in UK Carp Fishing
I believe Yonny already knows that, the question he is asking is why should he have to......and I agree! Its private property, privately owned, deals with all its own finances and maintenance programs and therefore in my opinion [censored] all to do with the ea. Let me make this perfectly clear.....I DO pay for my rod licence (two rod) and if I ocaisionally fish a water that allows more rods I go online and buy a 24 hour licence to cover those rods.....but I resent it every time I pay it. As an angler I cannot see in anyway shape or form what the ea has ever done for me for the fee that I pay every year....I fish club waters that are maintained by the members and paid for (by club funds) contractors. The river that I fish is actually a privately owned canalised river so again can see what the e a have done for it....it’s looked after by volunteers from various angling clubs and boat owners. i just think the big gripe with licence fee’s is that we don’t see what the ea does for the angler. A bit like the dvla really all we see is them taking money and don’t see anything in return. as for the “you can call on them in emergencies” scenario great 👍🏻 put an invoice in and have it paid if and when the need arises. -
framey’s advice is exactly what I would suggest , although I’m a Coleman user and don’t suffer these issues 😝

Hopefully I'm out tomorrow afternoon and the. Again all day Saturday 😁

Well I don't drink tea so 😝.....although you don't need to worry about me I only interrupt others if it's to politely ask them to do a photo or two, I know how precious time is in the bank for a lot of people
-
Won't bother asking you to do a session then 🤣🤣🤣
-
Last year blunts and cants went like hot potatoes then boreham and willow ( exact dates etc pic attached) You don't need to worry about do as ya like us mate....most of the fisheries are gated and locked and if they are not you would have to know where they where and get past the farmer and his two barrelled friends edit to add :- mufty I go as and when I can mate mainly weekends but also random days in week and random evenings
-
If I remember correctly boreham and willows was about £80 extra and Tufnell and mikleham was £55 extra
-
Braxted complex and boreham mere o have never failed to get a swim and never seem too busy (when I've walked around) willows always seems quiet to me I don't think I have been to any of the venues and thought it was busy to be honest blunts and cants can get busy from what I have heard but I doubt you'd ever fail to get a swim. I just went to check ticket prices for you and found out the price has gone up for standard membership by £3 and that all of the extra tickets nights concessions kids etc etc all have tab next to them sorry

I was only playing fella, I know you are a by the book kinda guy from previous comments 😉 Ive fished a few nights on the mere and blanked consistently (i do that most places though 🤣) i have a feeling I know which two waters you are referring to......blunts and cants ? If so yes stock thining and I bellieve Stick movement as they are aiming for a mixed fishery and a carp specific fishery, once you have your details through you'll be able to log on to the website and forum section and all the info is on the forum. Some cracking fish to be had from a good few of the waters. Some absolute bangers in the mere (I've only seen pictures) braxted complex also has some lovely perfect looking commons

Well just so people are aware, I have NEVER failed to get a swim at braxted....it's my local. As for the bailiffs and clique.....the whole Bailif team at willows was removed and a massive change around took place to put a stop to that behaviour. In two years I have had only one cross word with one member and it was to do with being In the car park to early (2 mins early according to his watch 🤣) his watch was wrong (bc getting there early is hugely frowned upon and can result in loss of ticket so no early adventures mate )

i am a current member of caa, some cracking waters on the ticket including about 14 miles of river. Have you had a look at the website? What do you want to know. I'll help if I can.

Totally agree 👆🏻
-
It was that top pic that I saw on google earlier! Cracking fish mate! 👌🏻👌🏻
-
I was just looking on g👀gle and saw a pic of nick holding a lovely fish of 24.12 👌🏻

Fish on far smaller venues go uncaught for years and years so I guarantee that place holds some beasts! Possibly not caught since ten years ago and came out as a twenty and could now be 50 or 60 I doubt anyone knows truly what's in there..... a good idea yeah but no one can be certain unless it has been netted 🤣 Or drained
-
What worries me is I could t get there often in enough to make it feasible 😞
-
Yeah it's a huge place and finding them could be a massive issue, I think it would have to be keel the club ticket for general use and season ticket in their for 24hr or longer sessions. i can only imagine what's in their! Never seen it in flesh just seen pictures on the website 120 acres is scary lol
-
Seriously thinking about it, just a matter of when to start and is it worth keeping club tickets also difficult decisions
-
This peaked my interest and just had a look at the web page for ardleigh and it looks immense! May have to give it a try myself 😁
-
Not sure on layer pits mate, but yes in my opinion all lakes should have the dip tanks but it's not always that easy is it.....to many money driven people without thinking if they lose the stock they lose the money!
-
If you do get any of the aforementioned it's says more about them than it does you mate! The EA 100% know as it is on the website as a confirmed case. A water not to far from there that I fish has installed a dip tank for nets slings matts etc and i believe if you go inside the otter fencing without first dipping kit it's a lifetime ban. As far as I am concerned it should be public knowledge to protect all other local fisheries and those further afield from visiting anglers, it also goes beyond irresponsible and inexcusable the way it has been hushed up

Makes no difference if insulated or not mate braid/ mono/flouro wouldn't conduct the electricity, a lake i fish has lines going across it and same thing leads, spombs, spods etc hanging from it. If you are gentle you can actually retrieve them if you end up over a line.....seen it done a couple of times

I cheat and use phone to video the whole fiasco and then take stills from the video* 👌🏻 *not that I get to do it very often 😂😂
