  1. The scopes come with 50mm or 40mm it's the buyers choice....I have also heard nothing but good about the whychwood extricators I went with the scopes for the pack down length and the fact that I was offered a deal I could t refuse...enough hijacking now (sorry smufter) but partially on point if you like the look of the velocities ianain they come in 10ft option too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Noooo, the full corks are the new additions to my tackle shed, they are 10ft 3lb Nash scopes, bought because the 12ft velocitys are bit to big for some of the swims i fish, their is a pic of the velocities on here somewhere though..... rite here in fact
  3. I have the 12ft 3lb version, with shrink wrap handles, I can't fault them, they look good (my opinion of course) and do the job nicely, I researched them as much as possible when I bought them and I literally couldnt find anything bad about them..... nothing but praise in fact and that's from the media guys and independent reviews too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Dave's mate and before you ask who dave is I'm under strict instructions not to say Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I would also have a guess at these big companies that have sprung up (to me any way) that do hand sharpened hooks may be buying hooks in mass quantities and leaving us guys short Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Ok so....thanks every one for the advice and opinions, but I was presented with an offer that I couldn't refuse on a pair of scopes 10ft cork handles (didn't think I'd like them but I was wrong they look great).... got to love it when someone doesn't realise/doesn't care what they are selling [emoji16][emoji51][emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Well without trying to sound patronising if you have no reason to enter the water on any of your lakes then I can't see the need to get waders, I'd just go with the waterproof jacket that you have and some waterproof bottoms (sallopetes maybe) and some waterproof footwear. Obviously just my thoughts and opinion [emoji51] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Depends on how far you are willing to travel mate, I don't know the specific area very well but I know it's "out in the sticks" as I worked their once, I'm sure their are some guys from up that way on here....so no doubt can offer much better advice, but as a a start you have angling direct at Colchester and a huge place on Canvey island (it's name escapes me) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. You buy it and I'll work it [emoji12] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. A, your lying that's not dpm enough for you B, I may have to buy some of that for my daughter lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. It's just purely intrigue, I was watching a video of some casting tuition (my casting leaves a little to be desired) and was surprised by some of the things that I saw and heard and where changed to achieve a greater distance for the gentlemen being taught . I just wanted to see a wider selection of set ups to see how they compared and you guys where the perfect group to ask Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. So as the title says.... What I would like to know if you gentlemen would be so kind is.... 1, The type of reel you use (big pit /baitrunner) 2, what lb line you use and if you use a leader 3, the distances your are achieving 4, the size water (feel free to give multiple answers r varying sizes of water 5, the length of rod Thanks in advance Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. My apologies mate, it seems I have Mis read the info about the kodex rod I hadn't realised it was a three / four piece rod! I thought it was a two piece with the option of adding in the blank third section...... that's that option out the window, so now it's between the scopes and the whychwood extricator Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Not a personal opinion as I don't own any but....I have only heard good things about the vass-text products and they have various different price brackets to choose from Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I'm inclined to agree mate, and I actually quite like the scopes although the kodex three piece isn't exactly how you may imagine.... have a look at it it's quite clever Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Useful as ever Phil [emoji14] no opinion on the rod then? Although I like the sound of pretty ladies [emoji12] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. So a spanner in the works...... have you gentlemen heard of kodex tackle? If so opinions on their Kompact 9ft/10ft .......for those that don't know it's the same rod but has the two length options with an extension piece Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Another one to consider is skiing stuff, again last seasons gear quite cheap if you look around Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Thanks for all the replies really helpful and given me plenty to mull over and websites to check and the like, nice one lads! [emoji1303][emoji1303][emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Can you recommend something that packs down to the same length (55") that's one of the biggest attractions for me.... I need to save space and fit stuff in the car more easily Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Wel the avid one certainly ain't cheap looks good though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Cheers Phil will check them out Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Smufter apologies for the hijack...... but after going for a session on Sunday I realised that my trolley/barrow isn't rite for me, soooo.......this is where you lot can hopefully help I stand 6'2" and my barrow just sits at the wrong height meaning I'm walking hunched over....can anyone of similar height or anyone with a good idea point me towards a barrow that sits high and is more comfortable for the taller gents? I really don't fancy a bad back from something that I love Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I hope it is coincidental.... I've just bought some ready for the new reels I'll be ordering soon [emoji33] ah well if it's bad news it's only 12£ and I have a bull spool of sensor in my bag Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. That's a bit random :/ but I already have a set, got taska ones (never been out the pouch though [emoji33] lol just thought it might be a bargain for someone, useful info though! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
