Had to go out in the boat last week to retrieve 4 rigs n leads in that tree i fish to, sorry to bring it up but it didnt affect the fishing, boshing around in the boat directly over my spot. Did give me chance to prune the random branch i kept catching on! As for pb birds, that goose gets the award

Maybe shrink tube has a place somewhere? When i get a strange bite im constantly thinking the pop ups been moved up the shank of the hook, bit of shrink tube would make it more secure possibly

The two fish I had the other day were both bottom baits yonny .... so agree that once its on the deck it will be fishing fine , just like to protect the hook point on the cast .
Normally with a stick in my case .

    Cannot disagree with you there!

That said, a Jag bank stick sets you back nearly £30 a piece, when a stick from the hedge would do the same job. All about what you want and how deep your pockets are. Don't think I'd buy the Korda ones. Only cause I'd rather an extra bag of bait and the sticks I've got.

Why not just use quick change swivels with small anti tangle sleeve? Bank tackle on ebay do em, thats what i use, exact same hook on swivel more than man enough for the job

I actually think if your a user of ultra thin dineama braid for long distance spombing, the groves in these sticks might appeal to you .As it can really miss behave on sticks & at 45£ a spool you would probably soon get your money back in saved braid.

Im with phil on this one

    Another beach Fisherman .

Its 1oz to 10lb of line . My thoughts would be a 30lb braid or 20plus sea fishing line with a 60lb shock leader .

How exactly?? Use this- per 1oz of bait = 10lb of line plus 10 for safety. So a 4 oz spod would need a 50lb leader, like greased weasel. I used to beach fish and always used a leader, if your chucking 80yrds how much pressure is on the line? What if you were fishing a lake and cracked off? Spods gonna just carry on and maybe hit someone. Read up on these things before using them, mind boggles

Good call on flotation sling, thought about getting one. Where do you guys stand on cradles/mats. As in ones that go on floor to ones that suspend the carp??

The RRP's are only there so that they can legally sell at the discount price , easy to inflate (make up) an RRP when you own the brand and have enough shops to stick the item in a dark corner at the higher price for the legal period before discounting, its all legal and above board .Really surprised the general public still fall for it .
