  1. Just an example of the closed shop nature of a lot of syndicate waters, seems being part of a recognised group opens up a lot of non-advertised waters.
  2. I only came across that group when looking into a water local to me, one of my neighbours is a member, he had a ticket for the Wooton water, but still can't get on the syndicate lake i like the look of, don't know why, i only ever see three or less anglers on there at any one time.
  3. Just a five minuet walk from me, there is a lovely syndicate water, can i find any direct contact details... not a chance. You have to join some carp study group, they have access to waters all over the country, including one lake in the Colne valley, that lake is something to do with Korda? The syndicate near me is one of two, the other being in Wootton Wawem near Stratford On Avon
  4. There is also this place, don't let the small size of the pool put you off, there are some real big carp in there. £55 a night, minimum two nights booking, so it's £110 for a visit. http://www.olivemeadlake.co.uk/booking/booking-the-pod/
  5. I tried the Royal Marine last year, used it on the first over-nighter on pine pool, didn't catch on it, but that was down to me, i had a right mare alround that weekend. tried it at barston along side some mainline i also had left, the mainline started out ok, but they some couldn't get enough of bait works kit, some nice big fish too. i didn't try it on pine again, due to it being a strong mainline water and having to order the bait works stuff, their scent from hell pop ups are the most unusual bait i have ever smelled, absolutely foul. I have managed to get on a syndicate waiting list that starts in march, i will more than likely be using bait works if i get on their, the royal marine is made from top notch ingredients, they would be a great long term bait.
  6. Like it and new to me, i do like a lot of Jazz music i hear never know who it's by though, i once said to a guy, " i like jazz as it's good at motivating you as you potter about with what ever you are doing at that time. " looked at me like i was mad.
  7. Looked at it myself last year for a little break with some fishing, they don't let dogs on-site though, shame really, looks real nice. http://www.cherrylakes.co.uk/
  8. I have been using the Mini spomb this year and i must say, what a great bit of kit, you just can't beat it for putting hemp out, plus the birds keep away from them, unlike catapulting bait out. If the fox Spod can be filled one handed it will be a big seller as filling the spomb takes a bit of care or it wont open on hitting the water.
  9. A thread for my lure fishing catches, so far I have been out twice and had one Zander from the canal, might go up later this evening, see if I can find a Perch or two.
  10. Always fancied a visit to cuttle mill, it's just up the road from where i'm fishing at the mo. does anyone know if they allow dogs on site? Kingsbury is fairly quiet these days leggs007, £4 a day for some of the waters on there, you must know the place well being a local, Canal pool is going to have a real good stock of fish in a few years, the carp the put in a few years back are coming out around the 20lb size already, they put 170 very nice looking carp in to replace what was lost.
  11. I got my camera from cash converters, £30 for a Fuji S2960, they usually have a good selection with prices starting at £20 going up to a few hundred quid, you can find a real good camera and they do a deposit and weekly payment on all their goods. The shop in Nuneaton has some real nice rods in the shop too.
  12. I would suggest barston as it's located in the central Midlands, but they have pole anglers on there, I seen a pole angler land a 20 odd lb common yesterday, funny, he thought it was one of the thirties whilst playing the fish, took him nearly an hour to net it, glad i don't fish like that, shipping in and shipping back out. he is one of the regular match anglers on there, I had to swap his little net over to his larger net while he played the fish, it only just fitted in the net, he was well surprised, and a good bit of pole angling on his part. Not what you would want in a match though, takes too long to land the fish.
  13. I loves me a bit of Lynyrd Skynyrd
  14. Seen this style of rig on a YT video, you need to use two crimps on the swivel end, one closed fully the another after it half closed, or the bait will trap between the fluro near the swivel.
  15. Forgot to say, if you go on a sunny calm day, take a floater rod, seems to always put a fish or two on the bank
  16. That and a few large carp that seemed to just appear from nowhere, according to gossip.
  17. I have never fished but been up for a look around, but he does not allow dogs on site so that ruled it out for me. There are said to be some huge fish in there, heard a rumour it is closed for day/night ticket sales? only allows a few regular anglers to fish it as he had problems with the EA, so closed the lake?
  18. Barston, you should have a few fish from there, the pegs are plenty big enough for two and they have toilets and a bar/restaurant on site, the food is good and fair priced, you can get a burger and chips for around a tenner, or there is a small sainburys up the road that does quick snack foods.
  19. Wow wish I had a club near me like that, there is the Leamington AA, but they have only just allowed coated hook lengths, up until a few years back it was mono only, they are keeping an eye on the coated stuff, if anglers are found to be exposing too much braid, it's going back to mono only.
  20. Not from that part of the world, but had a look online and noticed boilies are only allowed as hook bait and not as loose feed, there are plenty of good waters in that part of the country, anywhere that has silly bait bans I would avoid. there must be a lot of natural food in the specimen lake for them to not allow boilies, either that or they use pellets to feed the lake.
  21. Pine pool can really throw up just about anything, I have had some real nice Tench and Bream on previous visits, I once had two big bream out in the space of about ten minutes, wouldn't mind seeing them again as they were monsters, I didn't have a camera on me the last time I caught the bream. Soz for the double post, the site wont let me edit my previous post to add the above?
  22. I really do like to get up to Kingsbury, there was a few other anglers on the water yesterday, I seen one carp come out and another guy had a few Tench and a Pike. The Pike do seem to like the boilies up there. The carp were on the top yesterday afternoon, a few guys tried floater fishing but could not get them to feed.
  23. Had this out at about 7.30PM. had been there all day with no takes from Carp. I was just bringing my rod in to pack away and the pike grabed my boilie, thee hook was just lipped no idea how it stayed on. I have heard that the pike strike at carp anglers bait.
  24. The biggest problem with fishing canals is the boats, I have found the evenings are best, there are some nice carp in the midlands canals though
