  1. 1 Baitrunner 6010 dl 2 15 lb tiger line no leader 3 50-60 yards 4 6 acres 5 12' JRC contacts 3lb and one in 2 3/4 lb
  2. Stay away from the neoprene ones, they soak everything they come into contact with and take an age to dry out.
  3. I have seen a few of the gas ones on the bank, i think if you are sensible with it, don't close the doors or fall asleep with it on, you should be ok. The best idea i have seen in use, is a silent generator and one of those halogen heaters, although, your idea of silent might be completely different to the bloke a few pegs up from the genny.
  4. Went with a set a neoprene waders, should of got the rubber ones, as they don't take as long to dry on the outside, if you do get the neoprene ones, don't go in the bivvy with them on, you will soak everything... lol.
  5. Keep an eye on gumtree they come up every now and then, just make sure you check it over before buying, the stage stand by BZS on amazon are ok and the price is unbeatable.
  6. I have got a pod, it's a stillwater one, last resort. I think a lot of the tackle companies sell the same one, just a different badge.
  7. I use banksticks, got shiny and black ones, sometimes i mix them up, gets the OCD suffers twitchy
  8. Some busker in the street, well worth a listen.
  9. Done at the request of the then crown, one king was keeping old school with all the kilts and pipes, William of orange went for a more modern approach to win favour, the modern v old has always been a good argument starter, even in fishing it seems.
  10. Good find, first time i have ever heard the bagpipes fit in with accompanying instruments, the pipes are normally best played as a solo, or part of a pipe band. Interesting fact, did you know the pipes were once banned in Scotland, due to them being considered a weapon, must of been strange times.
  11. Ron Thompson do a few good un's, the water-proofing can be a bit stiff until you wear it in, they do the job though at a fair price
  12. Going by the promo video it looks like a awesome bit of kit that would handle any peg, if you can afford the price, go for it, Solar pods have a reputation of being pretty much unbreakable.
  13. For me i wouldn't use anything other than a baitrunner, if i ever need a big pit reel, i would still get the BR version, one crank of the handle and i'm into fighting drag mode, gotta be better than getting used to adjusting the front of the spool on a take
  14. My all time favourite alarms, liked them from the first time i saw them, especially the sliver ones, my only gripe with them is, you need the dongles and receiver to get the best out of them and that's what puts them up into the high price alarms. I'm under the impression they have no volume control on the alarm unit itself?
  15. It folds down nice and flat the inner mat comes out and folds down its centre and straps on to the front of the folded cradle body,. well worth the money compered to more pricey ones.
  16. I have one of these, it's the cheapest i could find that has sides. well made does the job although a bit large, that's only a problem when you loose a small fish in it. lol. http://www.fishingrepublic.net/carp/unhooking-mats-slings/theseus-carp-carp-cradle-tcc.html
  17. If you want to splash a bit of cash out, you can get a cheap copy of the dremel multi tool for less than £30, either that or use a fine file
  18. Some £1 shops do a large pack of Duracell double A batteries, you get around 12 in a pack for £3, great price for Duracell.
  19. I use a combi rig in a pva bag, fill the bag with some chopped and a few whole boilies and some tiny pellets to fill the gaps, twist the bag closed, try to have it looking like a cake icing pipe bag, cone shaped when tied. Thread the rig from the bottom corner, with the loop end coming out of the centre top of the cone shape bag, The bag should sit nicely on the hook and pull the rig out straight on the cast
  20. I always take my dog with me, he is a patterdale jack cross got him from the dogs trust as a pup and took him with me from the off, the only thing i have to watch out for is his bait eating, loves boilies, i don't let him have them, but if he gets the chance... I made a big mistake a few years back, he got hold of a baited hook, totally my fault, lucky it was a stiff rig, the line was sticking out of his mouth as he was having problems swallowing the fluro line, had to prize his mouth apart with one fist and reach in with the other hand to get hold of the hook, barbed hook too.
  21. I'm no rig master i even buy ready made chods , but i will state the combi rig is my all time favourite, i have not tried the hydro link yet. I just can't get away from locking the albright knot with a drop of super glue, never had a problem with glue, or a albright knot fail when fishing, but if the hydro link is as good as its reputation, might have a spool in my tackle box this year, get away from using glue. ( no i don't buy rig glue, lol) Do you need to remove any of the fluro on the swivel end of the rig? or does it tie ok with the fluro still in the braid.
  22. I tried the Royal Marine last year, used it on the first over-nighter on pine pool, didn't catch on it, but that was down to me, i had a right mare alround that weekend. tried it at barston along side some mainline i also had left, the mainline started out ok, but they some couldn't get enough of bait works kit, some nice big fish too. i didn't try it on pine again, due to it being a strong mainline water and having to order the bait works stuff, their scent from hell pop ups are the most unusual bait i have ever smelled, absolutely foul. I have managed to get on a syndicate waiting list that starts in march, i will more than likely be using bait works if i get on their, the royal marine is made from top notch ingredients, they would be a great long term bait.
  23. Like it and new to me, i do like a lot of Jazz music i hear never know who it's by though, i once said to a guy, " i like jazz as it's good at motivating you as you potter about with what ever you are doing at that time. " looked at me like i was mad.
  24. I have been using the Mini spomb this year and i must say, what a great bit of kit, you just can't beat it for putting hemp out, plus the birds keep away from them, unlike catapulting bait out. If the fox Spod can be filled one handed it will be a big seller as filling the spomb takes a bit of care or it wont open on hitting the water.
  25. A thread for my lure fishing catches, so far I have been out twice and had one Zander from the canal, might go up later this evening, see if I can find a Perch or two.
