    New Rigs

I used to catch carp rigs I was making myself when I was like 12. Looking back they were awful attempts but they worked. I'd never take them on any hard water though as I'd not be confident I'd hook up a warier fish on them! Sometimes, just sometimes though a odd rig like that, well they ain't seen it, they don't know how to deal with it.
  2. cygnet. they took over muddy waters a couple of years back. Simple bobbins, various sizes, weights, colours and do the job. I carry round with me the old skool black (2g), white ptfe (3g) & white dumpy (7g). ball chains and cords (never use them though)

    New Rigs

Proper jobs pop ups or responsive baits. Responsive 15mm pop ups have held my size 4 hooks up for days when pierced. I always pierce due to bird life.

    New Rigs

As said. Multi rigs are even simpler for pop ups. I use them religiously. pop ups and balanced baits. Can't go wrong. your rigs will work but in my opinion the pop up is set too high, if you're fishing over scattered boilies over light weed and silt then yes, have the pop up set that high. But then your hooklink looks too short. It will just get dragged in to it and ask the hookpoint. If fishing over harder bottom I'd want the pop up shorter, just over the hook height. Id also recommend using a chod hook for pop ups not a long shank. It will grab the lip better
  5. My cousin got an energizer one. Coulda blinded a pilot with it. Too bright IMO. blooming good but just too much. Really good with the red filter on though as it's so bright normally. Persobally I still use the £3 headtorch I got from wilkinsons 4 years ago. Strap is knackered but it's a great bit of kit. Red filter. 3 light settings and SOS. Bright enough but not OTT.
  6. Emblem spod or the shimano one. Or an old emblem.
  7. Defo a good product. Just can see NGT bring it out later for a tenner.
  8. Meant the Nash one. Block of wood with the Nash logo indented coming next month ...
  9. Probably will replace my sonik sks spod with a CTX when it gives up the ghost
  10. Nige trying to see if he can muscle in on the market now look
  11. Nige makes sense. But £66. What! If you were a long stay angler and everything nige described surely. Surely you'd just sort out a cheaper alternative. i hope I see one on the bank though. Bit of fairy liquid and a quick pull of the line. Slip n slide straight in to the lake!
  12. We get it. All alarms go bleep. But not all alarms make the same noise as a delkim.
  13. Number on the website for Southview farm livery. Road going through it in the future (probably not for 15 years though!). I spoke to him 3 years ago. Over £1000. The big one had died. All fenced now. Waiting list as long as a roll of toilet paper.
  14. Got a set of mk1 delks. Only problems I've had are when I ripped my battery connection point off my receiver by accident and when one of the Y bars got damaged on a take fishing to snags. Both my fault. Not the alarms. Newer version yeah, apparently waterproofing issues. I've never met anyone who has had this issue though. Everyone just knows a mate that has!
  15. Good set of thermals, good socks (merino wool) and wind proof top layers. Put layers on as you get colder. Otherwise you will sweat too much as said.
  16. My bad. Auto correct has had me there. WYCHWOOD is what I meant to say!!
  17. Such wood are good lads. Played beer pong with them at carp in the park. Don't remember much afterwards!!
  18. Yes they are pants. Too soft. Turn on if you breathe on them
  19. using boilie crumb is very in fashion though...basically the same thing
  20. Over weighted pop ups are what I normally use unless fishing over light weed/heavier silt. Snowman rigs should be balanced and act the same as wafters? Had my pb on a snowman and caught countless fish on them. The angling situation dictates what rig I use. Normally a low pop up on my stiff multi rig. Snowmen on harder spots or over finer background feed. Saying that I have landed some tricky carp on 2 inch pop ups over beds of groats, pigeon conditioner and maples.
  21. Looking for a curve shank to suit my fishing. only use barbed agree, its why I use big hooks. they stay put. Going to get some. I rarely fish bottom/balanced at the moment so doubt I'll really use them.
  22. No worries, been put on to J Precision hooks...
