  1. Well I've just woken up to the rain and a small rat rummaging around my bivvy. It a big mouse. Regardless, not a good start to the morning. Good job I have spare cutlery, plate and mug. On the plus side I had a 24.02lb mirror yesterday around 7pm. But nothing since.
  2. I was going to go buy some new ones instead of work but instead decided I'll cope with using my thermals with my waterproofs on top... still her fault though!!
  3. Exactly that!! I was due down the lake a bit later but somehow the missus has lost my fishing joggers! (Last I saw was when I put them in the washing machine! + a tshirt too) so ive sacked off work and decided to head home after dropping my boy off to have a search (I couldn't find them anywhere) so looks like it's thermals as trousers for me and a new pair unless she finds them. Off to the lake now!
  4. Key word is perceived. I'd assume the acrylic somehow reflects the light somehow and make them seem brighter?

    New Rigs

Too true. I stick to one rig. The multi rig. I have my little adaptation for using pop ups with it, using a stiff material. But snowman/ balanced baits are used on the standard full braid multi. I have used bottom baits on it but don't like it. Balanced is better. It isn't s bottom bait rig. Some will use it as such, and have results, but I just don't like it. Keep things simple is the best way.

    New Rigs

As said. Everyone makes the tweaks themselves and next thing it's the latest fad. The way I knotted my stiff material to braid was different at first. I then saw an article with Adam penning named "multi rig mk2" and now I use the same knot as him! Because it's better and tidier. That article came out early this year. Like January or something. Someone's been doing the stiff multi rig for years and years but never told anyone I bet. They all cruise the forums looking for content. Otherwise how are they deciding what to write about? They don't exactly have a suggestion box

    New Rigs

hahaa, no. I thought this one up last year whilst sitting on my bivvy one night. As always, these rigs are out there for yonks before made public. Not claiming I invented it but in my world I hadn't seen it before. Basically a less clutter stiff hinge rig in my opinion.

Rate my stiff multi rig, simple loop on the other end of the braid. (Blobbed of course)

    New Rigs

I used to catch carp rigs I was making myself when I was like 12. Looking back they were awful attempts but they worked. I'd never take them on any hard water though as I'd not be confident I'd hook up a warier fish on them! Sometimes, just sometimes though a odd rig like that, well they ain't seen it, they don't know how to deal with it.
  12. cygnet. they took over muddy waters a couple of years back. Simple bobbins, various sizes, weights, colours and do the job. I carry round with me the old skool black (2g), white ptfe (3g) & white dumpy (7g). ball chains and cords (never use them though)

Proper jobs pop ups or responsive baits. Responsive 15mm pop ups have held my size 4 hooks up for days when pierced. I always pierce due to bird life.

    New Rigs

As said. Multi rigs are even simpler for pop ups. I use them religiously. pop ups and balanced baits. Can't go wrong. your rigs will work but in my opinion the pop up is set too high, if you're fishing over scattered boilies over light weed and silt then yes, have the pop up set that high. But then your hooklink looks too short. It will just get dragged in to it and ask the hookpoint. If fishing over harder bottom I'd want the pop up shorter, just over the hook height. Id also recommend using a chod hook for pop ups not a long shank. It will grab the lip better
  15. My cousin got an energizer one. Coulda blinded a pilot with it. Too bright IMO. blooming good but just too much. Really good with the red filter on though as it's so bright normally. Persobally I still use the £3 headtorch I got from wilkinsons 4 years ago. Strap is knackered but it's a great bit of kit. Red filter. 3 light settings and SOS. Bright enough but not OTT.
  16. Emblem spod or the shimano one. Or an old emblem.
  17. Defo a good product. Just can see NGT bring it out later for a tenner.
  18. Meant the Nash one. Block of wood with the Nash logo indented coming next month ...
  19. will it not burn through your groundsheet?
  20. Probably will replace my sonik sks spod with a CTX when it gives up the ghost
  21. must be those camo contact lenses
  22. how? we all know camo is invisible...
  23. Nige trying to see if he can muscle in on the market now look
  24. Nige makes sense. But £66. What! If you were a long stay angler and everything nige described surely. Surely you'd just sort out a cheaper alternative. i hope I see one on the bank though. Bit of fairy liquid and a quick pull of the line. Slip n slide straight in to the lake!
  25. We get it. All alarms go bleep. But not all alarms make the same noise as a delkim.
